Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

would've been nice

What I mostly hate about last night's loss was that even though we gave up the lead, bricked all those FTs, and blew layups, Brewer STILL had us in the game only down 1 near the end. That **** is uncalled for based on the way we played when we did have the lead. Mentioned already on twitter, but along with the missed FTs, we let losers like Meyers Leonard and Robin Lopez be the keys to victory. Robin Lopez wasn't even making actual shots. Guys would brick on his team and he would just swipe in the air and it would go in. 2 Leonard 3s??? **** is ridiculous. And nic Batum, whose been sleepwalking all year of course wakes up when he sees the Rockets. I hate that ****.

This would've been a great game to cement the standings, but now, we have to finish with an overall better record because we don't have the tie breaker. It's possible to do, but we just made it more difficult.

Also, I'm not mad that Brewer got the last shot. He had the hot hand and had every right to shoot it. Harden would've been (more than likely) been doubled), but I can see why people were mad that the superstar didn't take the shot.

Need to flourish against Utah tonight. Can't let that stinging loss layover and have us down 15 in the first up there. Utah may stink, but they're still a young tough team that plays fast and furious. Similar to the Bucks.

Pathetic game. I know it's a back to back but it just seems like there absolutely no energy.

Beard has to start cooking again.

This was the first game that I said I'd turn off and actually turned it off. Haven't not watched or not listened to a Rockets game in a looooooong time. This was a pathetic effort from everyone not named Corey Brewer, and probably even Joey Dorsey. I get that it was a back to back, but after taking an L from the Blazers that should've been a win, there's no way this team should've just completely folded. Sure, Gobert is 9ft tall, but he averages 7ppg and you're flat out the better team. Harden had an awful shooting night, Bev, Ariza, and Josh Smith were invisible, and based on their play/effort, probably didn't even have to shower afterwards. D-Mo shrunk once again, and Jones/Terry just didn't do enough, though I appreciate him crashing the boards when he could. This team looks tired as hell, and thankfully our next game isn't til Sunday. Unfortunately, it's against the Clippers. The season is too far near the end and the standings are getting too close for a major losing streak. It's a damn shame we couldn't take advantage of other West teams losing.

Very good second quarter after an awful first. Barnes being a loser got Harden going, Jones is grabbing boards, and Pat/Ariza are being very aggressive. not a fan of whatever D-Mo is doing though. i don't know what's up with him. he's been looking like he just got to the NBA.

Need to keep it going in this second half. This really is a much needed game to win.

NEED to close this one out for morale. 2 game losing streak. beating a team we've had struggles with. they're fully healthy with BG back. we need this one.

3 points lead with 4 minutes left. Which Brad Lidge are we going to get?

Yeeeessss :pimp: :pimp: Soooo glad we toughed this game out. Would've been a brutal loss as far as the standings go. Harden reclaimed his MVP spot as he made up for those recent slump games. Ariza's defense was great today, and TJones more than made up for Howard not in the middle on the boards. Brewer mashing on Blake  :pimp: Matt "I Eat ****" Barnes single-handedly woke Harden up. How tragic for that piece of garbage.

It sucks that all 3 of those teams won't roll over and play dead. Every one of those games could be dogfights, which sucks cause Harden and Ariza could damn sure use some rest.

Not sure at all why TJones isn't starting tonight. Dorsey is starting and Jones will be coming off the bench for him. Seems to me D-Mo should be the one getting benched, but I guess I'm not a coach. Also, Bev has a bit of an elbow injury, but will still start. His minutes are supposed to be getting monitored though.
