Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

Very tough game tonight on the road. I remember how agonizing last year's loss was in Chicago, and I do NOT want that happening again. Noah plus a rejuvenated Pau, ironman Butler, and D. Rose will all be factors in some way in this game, and we have to basically match them at every position. Let's do it

Crappy loss cause even with the massive FT disparity, the Rockets still had the game in hand. At 100-95, with 3 minutes left, you just had to keep up that intensity that got you the lead in the first place. But Instead, they went cold for a stretch, and got sloppy. Need to make it up against the Cavs and Knicks these next couple days, and also have some other teams lose, cause now, we're in the 6th spot :x

I wish we would've went to DMO more late in the game. He seemed to be able to get his shot off versus any defender. If he misses you still have a shot at an offense of rebound with Dwight.

I just left the bar so I'll post more tomorrow when I sit down

 can't win 5v8

i hate how this game is going already. Yes they have Kyrie and Love, but we should still be dominating this game. This team for some reason just hasn't had that sense of urgency in awhile

Unlike the other night, the Rockets actually finished the job, and adjustments were made (specifically Ariza on Kyrie) to attest the that. Ariza and Bev offensive woes are still mind-boggling, but they hit shots when they needed to. Harden scored points, but was very lackadaisical, and the offense moved very well without him late, as i was saying under my breath that he should stay out  Basically, Brewer & Smith, along with Howard late won this game. On to the Knicks tomorrow. Guys got enough rest, along with the Knicks being in shambles, so we should be able to get this win and move along.

Today we saw the good Josh Smith. Let's pray for moore.

I like the fact that we shoot threes, but we have to take our time and get better looks. We need to focus on shooting more corner threes and less wing threes

Glad to see a game get put away fairly early for once. Minus that mini run the Knicks had early, it was basically a wire to wire win, and we needed that. Wish Josh Smith provided more than he did, but a W is a W. Didn't get much bench production, but there were still quite a few flat out easy shots and open looks. A lot of driving, kicking, and the shots actually falling. That was great to see. Would've liked to see Canaan in there earlier than he was, along with K-Pap scoring more. It seemed (at least for tonight) that Pap has been out the lineup so long, he forgot why he became a hot commodity. Harden was the total opposite of last night. Dude was so alive and effortless. It was night and day  They mentioned Dwight playing with a light knee strain. Hopefully that's a reason he's in his slump, and not any other reason, cause he just hasn't been completely dominant. I also could be just the flow of offense as well. Sometimes the ball just never finds him.

Only caught the highlights and listened to part of the game on the radio cause i was out of commission tonight, but other than the opening 3 minutes that were flooded with turnovers from both sides, it seems like this was relatively a wire to wire win. Smith only had 10 points, but seemed all over the floor defensively. Harden played like the MVP he is, D-Mo continued to be a wizard in the post, and the defensive intensity was still high, forcing all those turnovers

  no...that seems like way too much for a team that's trying to simply unload players. A better trade would have been Canaan and a 1st for Lawson, but I don't know Lawson's contract status.

Also, Canaan got recalled back to RGV

"Just learned the D-League Showcase starts this Thursday... tons of GMs and scouts are in attendance for it. It's a great place to show talent (generally teams put all their assignees on display).

Could explain why Canaan is there." - Clutch of Clutchfans.net

Time to pump up his trade value!!!

Whats up with Terrance Jones?
They're saying another month or so away.  He has a peroneal nerve contusion, and lost all feeling/sensation in his leg down to his toes.

"The treatment and outcome of the individual’s injury will depend upon the severity of the peroneal nerve contusion. For some cases corticosteroids may be injected to reduce the inflammation and pressure on the nerve, surgery could be an option, and physical therapy may also be a form of treatment to enhance muscular strength (Dugdale, 2011). Ice and heat may also be recommended, but if sensation is loss in the skin then the patient should be extra careful about the use of ice and heat. Again, depending upon the severity of the injury, the patient may have atrophy in the leg and a physical therapy program will most likely be implemented. If the peroneal nerve injury is substantial in the knee-level then a graft repair will often be the prognosis of the nerve repair (Cho, 2011).

Recovery time can be lengthy, due to the delicacy of the healing process of a nerve. The treatment may be to let the nerve grow back on its own and this could take several months or the injury may be severe enough to permanently disable the individual."

Basically they froze him for later on.

They told us a month ago about a month ago. I was hoping he could come back around now and provide a lot of value, and open up all sorts of options in the trade market

I couldn't remember who we faced tonight. but knew it would be some dry boring *** team, and looka here, the Nets  This is one of those games that needs to be put away quickly, instead of being dragged out, forcing us to have to use unnecessary effort.

lmaoooo

Two talented dudes in Olidepo(sp?) and Vuciviec(sp?). I feel like Dwight has to re-establish himself as a dominant big man. He's had too many so-so games, all that could be attributed to injury/early silly fouls.
