Just watched this vid, and i continue to be amazed at how clueless people are when it comes to the Rockets, and Houston sports in general. i forgot dude's name whose getting interviewed, but he sounds like he's never seen a Rockets game in his life, much less the past 3 seasons. He doesn't see where Dragic would fit? He thinks Dragic would come off the bench?? He'd be better on the Lakers? I mean...you know what, nevermind, I can't devout too much time to people who clearly just speak for hits.

People have this misconception that Harden is a ball hog who basically needs the ball all the time he has the ball all the time cause nobody else can create Josh Smith is our second best playmaker we need some more play making.

Harden needs the ball in his hands because he is our best creater.

It's a thing of beauty when he takes games over by being a distributor.

Welp...doesn't look like we're getting dragic. He's said he wouldn't sign with us long term so I think that pretty much puts us out of the running.

**** em.

can't be mad at him though considering we let him go in the past. but still, **** em if he's not trying to contend. Dude's not young.

...agree with all of this. Honestly, the Rockets have enough talent to contend; they need a coach, not more players

Bless you brother. I wish general media/fans/etc would turn the heat and frequency up on this statement. It's more crippling to us than Dwight's fall off/absence this year.

tell me about it; watching the rockets is so damn frustrating. I will never understand why they gave Mchale an extension before half the season was over. Yes, this year's D is much improved, but the offense is awful. I'd say 70% of the time down the floor the rockets run a One on one play or pick and roll. The last golden state game was the only time I saw them really try to establish Dwight in the post ALL YEAR! Montiejunas is pretty dang good down there also; better than Dwight actually. Are they gonna get you 20 and 10...nope, but their presence will give you a lot more uncontested 3's and driving lanes and a lot fewer Harden one on one hero shots. Hardens a baller and those shots fall, a lot, but in the playoffs teams are gonna dead that real quick.

The Rockets should be in the conversation with Golden State as real title contenders but with Mchale on the bench i won't be shocked if we get bounced in the first round again.

I am totally here for this type of talk.

The defense got better, and that wasn't really McHale. That was JB Bickerstaff. I guess McHale gets credit for having SOMEONE address it. and like you said, we go as Beard goes. He's increased his half court play tremendously. He was already great in transition. It's a fallacy as you mention though b/c once teams take away our first option (pick N roll with Beard), what do we do?

But Lesley Alexander basically resigned him to a 3 year deal to take him out of the "hot seat" zone. He wasn't on it but would have been should we lose in the first round this year. IMO it was a nearsighted move considering that extends McHale through Dwight's contract.

Are they planning on moving Dwight and firing McHale if we don't improve towards being contenders at the end of this next 3 years? Beard will be approaching old by then. We just locked ourselves into praying McHale figures it out in this window we have. Not super optimistic about that.

Couldn't agree more with ya'll about the McHale situation. Even when the games go great, I still feel like the team wins in spite of McHale, instead of because McHale. McHale's great coaching decisions come either by accident, or pure desperation when it's almost too late. This team even as it is (well, with a 75% and above Howard) is too talented to not advance far, but McHale is the handicap of that. I laugh when McHale slips and falls into a great adjustment (which are few and far in between), and everyone celebrates. Man please  McHale needs to be a commentator on TNT, not coaching. The team has always and will always get my 100% support though

ha, straight up. its tough. I would almost rather ANYBODY from the Spurs tree. Their folks are killing it in coaching, assisting, and front office work...mostly wherever they go.

Becky Hammon > McHale?

Wasn't sure about his free agency status, but then I saw this:

Quote:

The Sixers of today don’t have to worry about that doomsday scenario. They might have more than $50 million in cap room this summer. They can make McDaniels a restricted free agent with a one-year, $1.2 million qualifying offer — guaranteeing themselves the right to match any offer McDaniels receives from another team. If McDaniels blows up, the Sixers can match such an offer or just re-sign him into their cap space. If he doesn’t, McDaniels could just sign that $1.2 million qualifying offer and enter restricted free agency again a year later.

So it sounds like the Rockets will likely make McDaniels a RFA after this season

I'm intrigued on KJ McDaniels....

Is it wrong that I'm not mad that we didn't get Dragic? I feel like the Suns were gonna try to hit us up too much for him, with the uncertainty that he may not even re-sign with us

The Houston Rockets made a pair of deadline deals to boost their bench as they jockey for position in the Western Conference standings.

Houston acquired guard Pablo Prigioni from the New York Knicks and rookie guard K.J. McDaniels from the Philadephia 76ers, sources told ESPN.com.

The Rockets, in turn, are sending guard Isaiah Canaan and a second-round pick to the Sixers, according to sources. The pick is actually the Nuggets' second-rounder that the Rockets possessed.

The Knicks acquire guard Alexey Shved and a pair of future second-round picks, sources said.

KJ cant shoot. He's just really athletic. thats all. hopefully he is a spark off the bench

Still wish we could of got Dragic

Kinda disappointed we didn't land a big name at the deadline or even someone who can be a playmaker to help Harden some smh
We will see how everything works out in the future.
I had read that dragic said he wouldn't resign here so morey made the right move in not trading for him it woulda been a complete waste. Never thought Dragic would resign anyways. Dudes gonna get paid
Btw don't know why Cannan didn't get more opportunities smh dude could score and Mchale just had him sitting
Watch him go and put up solid numbers

A lot of decent players are gonna be available soon from buyouts and **** who could definitely help out. Im pretty sure Morey gonna snag another solid guy or two to add to the bench.
Saw that Harden was pushing for Perkins
Idk why but dude cracks me up every time I watch him play   he's always doing the most but hed be a decent backup and add some more toughness

Heard McHale on 790 this afternoon. He more or less said Cannan didn't get any minutes cause he can't play defense.

How would he know its not like he gave him any playing time...

I think Canaan is a good player who should've gotten more minutes. When he got to play I thought he played well. I was at the game when he started for Pat Bev against the Warriors and he dropped like 20 points all while checking Curry. Only to get buried on the bench as soon as Pat Bev came back.

I think Canaan is going to wind up like Dragic and Kyle Lowery...2 guys Mchale had no idea how to use, only to have them go elsewhere and flourish. When is Morey gonna wake up and realize Mchale is wasting all the talent he stockpiles! The players love the guy, but damn the proof is in the pudding. If they exit in the 1st round this year Mchale's gotta go.
