Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

Hopefully Harden can outflow CP3. I'm very interested in this matchup, cause we're down starters again, and the Clippers for some reason just don't look like that big bad scary team. Not really sure what's up.

We match up terribly with the Clippers. I assume a loss when we play so I'm not shocked at the score

on a serious note though, need to get healthy fast.

This is worrisome.  Jones and Beverley have NO TIMETABLE for their return as of this moment, and Canaan looks to be out for a few games after getting injured last night vs the clips.  we were blessed with an easy early schedule so Harden was able to carry us through the first 15 games.

It's about to get real though and hopefully Dwight is coming back sooner then later.  otherwise we aren't going to be at the top of the western standings for long.

All these injuries man :smh:

And I hate that Canaan sprained his ankle last night, I wanted to see him to continue to get better out there. Also why does it take a Bev injury to even the let Canaan play when everyone knows he's a way better option than Terry out there. McHale is so stubborn man.

This is how I feel. Ever since Blake & CP3 have been there, they beat us no matter what.

All these injuries stink. Canaan was flourishing. This would be the perfect time to get Nick Johnson and Cappella out there, but we know McHale will put Terry and Garcia out there for extended minutes.

@ the Bucks tonight...they're a good defensive team, but they're still the Bucks. Even shorthanded I think we can beat them.

Yes, Mchale's idiocy cost is vs Lakers and he has given no good reason at all, (THERE IS NO GOOD REASON) as to why he wasn't giving Canaan ANY minutes. Just ridicolous.

I really feel like he holds the team back...but I'm holding off on my McHale rants til I see what goes down in the playoffs.

has anyone heard anything about Dwight? I mean the backup bigs are uskess (Black and Dorsey) and really (as of now) the one serious flaw Morey has made in not arranging for cover there.

Bucks are inferior yea, but ANY team can score inside/at the rim vs us at the moment so I don't even know.

Rockets are actually underdogs tonight, Bucks-2 is the line.

Fair line to me w/our injuries

Rox win going away. Harden with another sick statline somthin like 38/6/8/4.

Terry starting at pg for us had 16/7/5

Terry dunking had me in tears  He def looked good last night

And Papanikalou had a nasty dunk on a fast break over Larry Sanders! will def be on sc

That dunk was nasty man  :pimp:

Good play from Tarik and Dorsey together. They didn't score much, but both were extremely active. They just need to learn to be careful with their fouls. It was overall a very balanced effort even while being more short-handed than normal. Everybody pulled their weight and it was great to see. Still would like to see Daniels get more PT, but baby steps I guess.

Clint just gotta get strong. The toolset is there and its obvious. Hate to sound like a biased homer, but he really has shown nice flashes. I hope we can keep most of these guys around for the next 4-5 years. gonna be a lovely future.

This. We need to start flourishing with our own guys instead of using them as trading cards, always trying to find something better. That goes for the Texans too.

Tonight vs Memphis.....with no Bev, Howard, TJones, nor Canaan. We should fair better at home, but i can't condignly say I feel good about this matchup. D-Mo basically has to be European Zac Randolph, and both Tarik/Dorsey need to find a way to stymie Marc Gasol. Ehhhh.....

Jason Terry has loads of confidence based on his last interview, which I mildly applaud

Well.....looks like I was clearly wrong about tonight   Every single person brought something when it mattered. Talk about team ball. Down 3 starters and for most of the game, you're just punishing them. Gasol, Z-Bo, and Conley basically did nothing. D-Mo, Dorsey, and Black really did hold their ground on them. It was so good to see. Jason Terry kept us afloat early, Ariza got going late, K-Pap was once had his fingerprints all over the game, and Harden just ho-hum bring some balanced scoring and defense. Nick Johnson didn't score much at all, but he showed some potential simply from an athletic standpoint. Capela was nervous as hell  but I liked what I saw from him defensively. What a game. I'm really curious as to how this team will be once we're at full strength. Hmmmm.....

i've hated mchale for a while, and had problems with a lot of stuff he does, but i credit him with the emphasis on defense. it's been very fun to watch them play defense and turn it into easy baskets. last night ariza stole 2 straight passes for dunks the other way. harden making rotations etc. love it.
