Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

The loss stinks, but I liked the fight these guys showed being short-handed, especially Canaan and D-Mo. The game just got sloppy near the end, and that's what basically flipped the game. Howard should be back next game, but Bev and TJones are supposed to be out a minimum of a week.

The 3 point shooting X____X. If you're gonna take that many 3s, Daniels should definitely be in the lineup, and maybe even Garcia. K-Pap stunk tonight he played fairly good defense, but his offense was like your usual D-Mo game. Also as far as D-Mo goes, his play was very much needed and appreciated.... unfortunately, I fully expect him to revert back to normal, because D-Mo. Oh, can't forget, Ariza was nowhere to be found, which sucked. Could've used 12-20 points from him tonight.

The frustrating rockets returned tonight...great first half, then they stepped into a time machine and went back to last year. Too many 3's...too many times down the floor without running an offense and going one on one...jharden with bone head turnovers and lazy D.

This team could do some real damage in the West if they play the right way, we'll see if Mchale can get these guys doing that.

PS - this kid steph curry is pretty damn good

I hate how small we go. Why couldn't black and Dorsey play? We got killed on the boards

Bev and Jones out again tonight. Let's get this win. Dwight and Pek will be tough matchup, but at least it's just Pek instead of Pek and Love

Harden's all good. It'll probably hurt more tomorrow than anything, since the adrenaline would have worn off. Very good game played by the guys tonight, even though it should've been taken care of quicker than that. Dwight was the big man in the middle like he should be, and it was very good to see Terry, K-Pap, and especially Tarik D-Mo come up big. That's how those guys need to play every night.

I hate when dwight blocks shots 3 rows out of bounds. Catch the ball man.
gotta hold the two triggers, NBA Street style

This team is hilarious man  if you know the NBA, and you know the Rockets, you 100% knew that after the Sixers lost by 50, that they would play us the Rockets with all their passion and intensity. I was not surprised at all that now 0-9 team played like we the Rockets were the 0-9 team. Every single point counted. Had Tarik not made a basket....LOL....had Howard missed 1 more free-throw....LOL....etc etc. Harden looked beat out there, but I'm glad he showed what a leader was by sicking through it. Him and Howard, along with sprinkles of Canaan, Terry, and Ariza definitely capped this win off. We The Rockets didn't score 100, but they held a 9th straight team under 100, showing that defense can truly win when your offense isn't there....but that offense NEEEDS to be there more often. Can't have 2 and 3/4s guys plays, and all but goose eggs for the rest of the team. Will post pics and vids tomorrow.

Ugly game. They figured they would roll over them then nothing was falling and it was s wake up. Either take the W and move on. Just hope we don't shoot like that against a playoff team.

Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Friday that guard Patrick Beverley is set to return to action "much sooner" than forward Terrence Jones, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Beverley could possibly make it back Sunday or Monday, though McHale didn't have a timetable for either player. He's played just one game in November due to a hamstring injury. Jones remains sidelined by a knee issue.

As of right now, it looks like Bev will play tonight vs OKC. Not sure if he's starting it not though.

my Sixers gave you all you chumps could handle

this is what happens when you come up against a real (D) league team :smokin

Completely forgot we play OKC tonight. Deighton gotta make more FTs. 9 missed is unacceptable. I see Jeremy Lamb torching us because it would be very Houston of us to let that happen. Kinda like last year when we lost to philly and James Anderson dropped 36 on us

Right  ?

Also, Wolves active in trying to trade Corey Brewer to either the Rockets or Cavs. Would be a fantastic fit off the bench, but as I already mentioned, a backup big I think is more of a priority than anything.

This game was total trash   we were pretty much lucky to win this. I knew the Thunder would fight, but I didn't think it would be a complete knife fight to get this victory. This can't become a trend. Hardly anybody scored, and heading to face the Grizzlies, that definitely can't happen. Not having a consistent backup big is really hurting us, along with teeeeerrrrrrible FT shooting.
