30 assists on 39 made baskets. offense wasn't a huge issue. just stopped hitting shots for a little. foul count was 15-5 in the second half. tough to overcome that

Hawks kept getting second chance points too. There was no reason DMo/TJones/Smith shouldn't have been pulling down rebounds instead of giving them that many chances. Can't give up a lead like that, can't turn it over, and can't go cold, but the refs did make sure to stop any momentum we did get going. Brewer brought the energy, but he just didn't make the baskets he usually makes. him, D-Mo, and Ariza's shooting percentage was pretty bad. Terry showed out tonight which was a plus, but we needed more from Bev and Prig as well. Also, what happened to TJones late in the game?? there was a pretty lengthy stretch where he wasn't in the game, had been playing well, and was surely needed. i just don't get that. A fresh Harden tomorrow should do wonders, but I'm curious to see how the rest of the guys play. I wouldn't be mad if Dorsey got SOME king of FT. Some.

We definitely missed Harden, he would've closed the deal. But then again, we wouldn't have had great ball movement.

and please tell me by guys on the radio, you don't mean clanton and zierlien. clanton is a fan boy, and zierlien should stick to football for everyone's sake.

Im not saying McHale needs to go. I'm content with him because we could be worse off. I just don't think he deserves any type of special credit.

The only thing that has changed since last year is we have a better supporting cast and we actually try to play defense.

We've seen who McHale is, but it really doesn't matter. This team has enough to win whether we're being coached by Kubiak or James Naismith.

who would you replace him with?

we could very easily lose in the 1st round, same for any team in the west. i think the only team i can comfortable say would advance is golden state, and that's predicated on them not playing OKC. everything is up in the air.

we have the talent to be a bonafide top 4 seed in the west. I really want to say we have the talent to be better, but I'm being conservative. So McHale can't hide behind the "toughness of the west". If he can't give us the push we need to reach our full potential, he needs to go.

Won't blame that loss McHale, but I'll continue to say that McHale = Kubiak, a really cool likable dude that needs everything perfect around him to win, or needs to be in a lesser role. As far as the team overall, unlike the Kub-led Texans, I feel like the Rockets can win in spite of their coach.

I like that comparison. but I feel like the Rockets are in a better position now to contend than the Texans have ever been. So its compounded even more with McHale's situation

That was pretty much what I was saying. Due to pure talent I feel like they can go far, especially with bball being an individual game sometimes. 1-2 people can completely takeover a game in the NBA. That can somewhat happen in the NFL, but there's still so many outside factors (See: Watt destroying folks, while the offense stalls or throws INTs). Kubiak never had it all at the same time, but at his disposal was a HOF receiver, great running back, very good line, Philips coaching the defense (which initially saved his job), a future HOF DE, a very good QB, amongst other things (assistants, etc), and was never able to finish the job. Though i feel McHale is a hindrance, he shouldn't need all of that for the Rockets to go far. Even with that comparison, I hope it's not a dead-on comparison, where we waste guys high-level years, and forced to clean house sooner than we want.

Just go back and watch the Clippers game to see how Mchale is as an X's and O's coach. Just watch how the clips execute...pick and rolls...out of bounds sets...secondary breaks... as opposed to what the Rockets did down the floor. Everything the clips do Is designed to put their players in the best position to use their talents. Running Redick off screens...CP in High or low pick and Roll with Deandre/Blake...and they execute the hell out of those sets. Then if/when the play doesn't work or break down; they throw it to Crawford or Paul to create late in the shot clock.

Outside of having a guy like Redick that sounds just like most of the same things the Rockets do. Doc must be a terrible coach.


(even though I think Doc Rivers is one of the most overrated things going)

i hope yall watched the clippers blazers game tonight. down the stretch the only offense they ran was cp3 isos and pick and rolls. but yall told me...
