Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

Pretty spot on. What magnifies it for me (with these Rockets at least) is I think this is the best roster we've had since the championship Rockets team. and I'd make an argument this roster roster is better top to bottom. We should be burying guys. Dwight is approaching 30, and Harden is entering his prime. We really do need to capitalize now-ish
 
houston teams make sure that their fans are always on their toes. :lol:
 
i'm accustomed to kris brown kicking a gamewinner off the goal post. dame lillard killing us at the buzzer. schaub's arm turning into a noodle. getting bounced by deron williams, carlos boozer, matt harpring, mehmet okur, derek fisher.

so when the rockets get a 10 point lead. i expect them to blow it. and when they've blown it after the 2nd quarter, i'm upset because i actually knew it was coming.

Let's get the HCA back tonight. Hopefully no CP3 again and we can pull off a win today and Sunday. Besides Ariza always seems to have good games playing in LA sleeping at home etc.

Harden also. No mercy guys. I want a GSW style blowout. 20+ from halftime on. Anyone here a season ticket holder?

CP3 is supposedly playing tonight. If he is, let's hope McHale can inject some Nick Johnson for speed alone. Ham injuries aren't something you can just hop back out there and go. CP3 WILL be thinking about it, so he needs to be attacked, and Terry/Prig alone won't be able to do that, especially consistently.

Pathetic thus far. Effort. Coaching. Bench play. Everything.

Only person that showed up is Dwight and we still aren't going to him. IMO bench play determines this series and we're getting outplayed by the worst bench in the L.

Doesn't hurt that Mchale doesn't even foul Deandre or only calls 1 timeout in that big third quarter swing to stop the momentum.

One game. Let's get the momentum back in the 4th and hopefully turn this around for Sunday's game to get back HCA. I still believe.

Foolishness man...the rockets have played 1 and a half quarters of playoff bball this whole series.

Too much talent on this roster to get outplayed this badly

This. On top of not playing good perimeter D, they continued to get outhustled. Its like they were allergic to boards. Some possessions there were loose balls, and they were just standing around instead of going after them. Trash all around.

Turning point was that point in the 3rd. Josh smith like I said who has been hurting us all series. We're within 5. He gets called for a charge, then misses a layup, then the clippers go on that crazy run. Not blaming it all on smith but the whole team didn't show up besides Dwight.

it was a 5 pt game until austin rivers went linsanity. no other way to describe austin rivers performance other than linsanity. 

we take game 4 and it becomes a series again. 
 
i watched until it got really out of hand. like when austin rivers got his 3rd and-1. glad i didn't catch the part with him stirring the pot. not as confident now. can't believe the hack-a-dwight and hack-a-deandre works against us. i also hate how all our bigs are missing free throws. bummed.
 
Interested to see what adjustments McHale makes. It's really hard to play Pablo and Jet this series. Think you guys would have a fantastic chance today with a PG less lineup of like Harden / Ariza / Brewer or something of the sort.

More so for defensive purposes than offensive purposes. Jet, from an effort, size, and flat out ability standpoint can't defend JJ Redick at all. Neither can Prigioni. If they are going to continue to start out Ariza on CP, then the no PG lineup is their best bet because You don't want harden on CP, and you don't want harden chasing redick around either. 
 
I still can't believe how Austin Rivers became a factor like that. It really was Linsanity like people said. They couldn't stop him. Those 3 and 1's made me completely disgusted. Paul was able to rest DURING the game because of that. No excuse to let a guy who has barely looked like an NBA player for the majority of his career.
 
Agreed that Prigs and Jet need to take a seat on the bench.

You need your 5 best players on the court, and don't need to play a point guard with Jimmy on the floor.

To that point, everything needs to run through Jimmy. I want to see him be more aggressive and take over the game tonight.
 
i wanted nick johnson to get minutes just to run with redick. midas whale considering jet hasn't been doing anything on offense either.
