Sacramento Kings season thread | 32-48 | 4/13 @ HOU 5pm

Golden 1 is the 6th largest credit union in the country and the 2nd largest in the state....

and they are forking up $120 million over 20 years for the naming rights, a far cry from the old naming rights I'm sure

After this I'm sure Vivek's pockets won't be hurting to hand over whatever shortage of funds there are from the city subsidies not coming through on their end, if any.

When it comes to the arena, I'm pretty sure Vivek has that end covered.

Especially when he says he'll cover any over run costs.... that would be a bold move on his part to go back on that, or really any of his arena related promises really

Seriously? Who's #1? There's some big ones down here in SoCal I thought.
Better than Power Balance or Sleep Train

Pretty interesting considering how small of a reach Golden 1 has. Pretty sure they're only in norcal.
Most are in NorCal. But I saw one in SLO when I was there a couple months back.

Interesting to see Golden 1 the sponsor for the arena. Good for the Kings...I really thought Vivek was going to name the arena under his name.

Crayz to see how quick the arena is being built though. Already seeing th 2nd level is quite impressive.

tbh, I got all that from Wikipedia

Apparently the largest credit union  in Cali is SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union (http://www.usacreditunions.com/top-100-credit-unions-by-cash-assets)

Anyways, here all the Golden 1 locations, they are peppered all over the state for sure:

Alameda, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Shasta, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.

Arena looks nice.
Never got a chance to ask, in this thread, but what were your guys impressions of Malone. I thought he'd be a good coach, and I don't think he drastically underachieved with the talent on the roster.

Universally liked by all....except Vivek. He didn't underachieve at all. Was on pace to get at least 35 wins. DMC got hit with meningitis, and Vivek used that as his chance to get rid of Malone.

He had the team moving in the right direction. We were in every ball game and the players didn't quit. Seems like everyone was buying in and he made the most with what he had. It was an awful decision to fire him, and very unpopular if you asked the fanbase. I'm a fan of Mike Malone and think he'll be a great HC. Maybe not in Denver, but he'll get there someday.

Malone is great.

Kings/Pete/Vivek are idiots for firing him.

Never given a fair chance.

Peaches said it was PDA that fired him, and wanted to fire him after last season but Vivek talked him out of it.

My uncle is moving to Nevada this week and he had a "Kings" room in his house, he told me to come get all of his Kings stuff cause he wasn't taking it with him. So i just got a crapload of Kings memorabilia.

Too bad Kings suck
