Court looks good, jerseys are amazing.

Casspi is looking better than Williams.

Ball movement seems to be better.

Cousins is one of the best centers in the league.

Nik looks really comfortable out there. And his shot is wet

Ball movement has been outstanding

was at the game for a bit tonight. left at half time to catch the rest of the NLDS

currently they only have the replicas of the new jerseys in. no swingman or authentics yet :x

 before I left I did see DMC yell at Nik for playing that james harden D

Whenever you guys get the chance, snap some closeups. I'm in socal and probably won't be able to buy it in person. I haven't been too impressed with the Adidas swingmans

Welcome everyone to the Sacramento Kings 2014-2015 Season Preview!

Overview
In a few weeks we'll kickoff the new campaign against the Golden State Warriors, and it's very likely that the following week we'll be out of playoff contention. We've been told that last year the team was not going to be gauged on wins and losses. However, this year is a different story. Nobody knows what the end result is supposed to look like from a player personnel standpoint, General Manager Pete D'Alessandro probably doesn't even know what he wants the roster to look like after the All-Star Game Break. Here's what we do know:

- DeMarcus Cousins has matured a ton on the court and gained unquantifiable experience playing for the US National team.
- Rudy Gay's contract is done after this year, his tenure is not.
- Defense and ball movement will be upgraded with the additions of Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions, scoring is not guaranteed.
- Nik Stauskas is looking like a solid draft pick.
- Ben McLemore has taken over the role of Pizza Guy.
- Every one of the power forwards is underwhelming.

Now that we have these pieces in place, let's see if we can put together a picture from this puzzle.

Point Guard
Point Guard: Gone is Isaiah Thomas, who was a dynamic scorer but had the highest dribbling to pass ratio in the league. He also played defense that only a turnstile or matador would be proud of. His replacements are former Los Angeles Clipper and previous Mike Malone student, Darren Collison. As well as serviceable veteran Ramon Sessions. Ray MacCallum is also on the depth chart. Collison is not the scorer Thomas is but he distributes the ball at a much higher rate even if his assist numbers do not tell the story. His defense is also superior to Thomas who often times left his teammates on an island to cover down. Often times last season this led to easy layups and short jumpers, or an uncontested three point attempt. Sessions is a proven veteran that can spell starters while providing decent offensive production. While neither Collison or Sessions are thought of as true starting point guards, both can fill the role in spots admirably. Ray MacCallum showed flashes of a future core player for the Kings, but he would be better served to sit, watch, learn and progress for at least another year.

Shooting Guard
Shooting Guard: Ben McLemore is presumably the starter, but last year he had a rather forgettable rookie campaign. He struggled almost the entire year, but mid-March he seemed to be getting used to the style of play in the NBA. McLemore has insane athletic ability and a prototypical jump shot yet neither have translated to any amount of success. He may have attacked the rim too hard or rushed his shots, but regardless of reason, McLemore missed dunks and shot on the under 38% from the field last year. His counterpart, Nik Stauskas, showed he is more than capable of playing at this level during the Las Vegas Summer League. Stauskas brings underrated athleticism and ball-handling skills, a deadly accurate jumpshot, and a smoking hot girlfriend. We'll all be keeping a watchful eye throughout the year as we have high hopes for this Canadian prospect.

Small Forward
Small Forward: For the last few seasons now the Kings have looked for someone to cement themselves as the starting small forward. This position has been a revolving door ever since Ron Artest was traded in 2009, and every one of his successors, if we can call them that, have not been productive. Until last year, when Pete D'Alessandro traded Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons, Patrick Patterson, and Chuck Hayes to Toronto for highly scrutinized Rudy Gay. Gay's production as a Raptor left much to be desired, however, as a King it looked like he found the player he was when he played for the Memphis Grizzlies. Gay is on his final year and will make $19 million this season. He certainly will not see that figure heading into next offseason but most Kings fans will tell you he has a roster spot on this team if he wants it. Omri Casspi was welcomed back to the squad after trips to Cleveland and Houston. Well, he was welcomed back by the front office, that is. The signing of Casspi was just the latest of head scratching moves. Derrick Williams can also play the SF spot but as a former #2 overall pick his production has been marginal at best. It's a pretty safe bet to say his option will not be picked up when the year is over.

Power Forward
Power Forward: Not just a logjammed position, but our team mantra for this season. You can plug in any of the power forwards we have on this team to start any given game and the production will still be the same. Jason Thompson was drafted in 2008 and has been a massive disappointment, all the while his output has decreased as well. Reggie Evans brings little more than hustle and toughness to a team that lacked motivation in certain spots, and Carl Landry was too hurt to be anything close to what he was as a Warrior. The lone bright spot is Summer League carryover, Eric Moreland. His motor does not stop and he brings shotblocking ability to this team that has not been seen since before Keon Clark was shipped out.

Center
Center: DeMarcus Cousins. Without a doubt the one guy on this team that SHOULD be an all-star. His tantrums have decreased greatly, and in exchange his numbers also went up. It is a travesty, and a sham, and a mockery that he did not get to represent the Western Conference last year. It's a traveshamockery. Cousins has a new goal of only obtaining 5 technical fouls this year as opposed to the 16 he acquired last year. If he can stay on the floor and not give away free points then it is not out of the question to think Sacramento can surpass the 30.5 win total that Las Vegas has placed. Cousins' backup is another former Los Angeles Clipper, Ryan Hollins. Hollins brings nothing more than another big body to the roster. His last three years he has not averaged more than 11 minutes per game. Look for Boogie to be run into the ground unless D'Alessandro makes another move to bring in a more serviceable backup.

Conclusion
David Wear. Sim Bhullar. Deonte Burton. Trey Johnson...

The Kings play two back to backs in November, four in December, two in January two in February, three in March, and only one in April. The way the team is structured it is believable that they could lose all 12 of those back end games. The Kings also play six of their first nine games on the road, they have a five game road trip in January, and a seven game road trip in March. Other than that there are no trips more than four games for the season.

When the season concludes on April 15th, if the Kings have anywhere between 32-35 wins that would be considered a major step forward in the ultra tough Western Conference. If that were to happen then a playoff berth by the time the new arena is built may not be just a pipedream...

GO KINGS!

He is younger than me

I was already feeling a little old when we drafted Tyreke, he's only a few days younger than me.

I'm too young to be feeling his old [emoji]128534[/emoji][emoji]128534[/emoji][emoji]128553[/emoji][emoji]128553[/emoji]

was DMC's second T in preseason a BS call ?
haha yea nobody has any idea why he got it. Everyone was just lined up for Free Throws and the ref was awkwardly dibbling the ball through the paint and then he turned to Cousins and called a T
