Just started working at Nike & its my first retail job where I'm on my fee 5-7 hrs a day in like 10 years. My spine is all jacked up, so during and at the end of my shift I have all types of back & neck pain...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And no you can't get my swoosh account lol.

The answer is, the best shoe for you is the one that fits YOUR feet. Different people have different feet. Some cushioning technologies work for some people and other technologies work for other people. You can choose from Air, Zoom Air, Lunar and even other types of cushioning from other brands but YOU need to feel which one works best for YOUR feet.

Well if youre at Nike then you have staff dress...

Idk about outlets though, but Roshes would suck for all day. Get something with stability.

cant go wrong with a generic running shoe. i agree try on different shoes to get the right cushioning for you.. a pegasus 31 or lunargilde are safe bets. also the vomero is pretty good, zoom air chusioning and phylite sole cant go wrong. dont go for any flyknit racers or frees, there not good for long periods of time.

Yeah, I was gonna say Pegsus, Vomero, or Lunarglide. My personal favorite is the Vomero.

I worked in retail, manufacturing, repair tech etc

I'm a repair tech for a company and I stand on my feet almost 8~9hrs for four days out of seven of the week and I haven't found a pair of Nike's that are comfortable for standing...  Sure when you're in motion it feels different and yes it does, but for standing around...nup.

2014 Nike Free 5.0 - Nope

2014 Nike Flyknit Free 4.0 - Nope

Nike Lunar Pegasus 89 - Nope

Air Jordan 14 Retro - Nope

2014 Nike Air Max - Nope

Nike Air Max Motion - Nope

Nike Kasishi Run - Nope

Nike Roshe Run - Nope

etc etc

Again my feet, my body and my mind isn't yours.  If you have to try the shoes yourself on your feet to find out if they're comfortable to your feet, ankle, shin, and the leg itself.

As for what I wear at work that I really like and enjoy on my feet that doesn't give it pain at the end of the day;

Any of the Adidas Boost shoes.  Have two pairs of the Pure Boost and have been trying to cop a pair of the Primeknit Boost at a reasonable price.  But man is this sole technology one of the best things to come out since sliced bread.

And another favorite of mine on feet is the Micro G sole from Under Armour.  Feels so responsive and yet so cushioned its kind of crazy....  Not only that to me anyways their running and training line of shoes looks pretty damn amazing.

I agree that when you are standing for a long period of time, most of Nike's cushioning techs are pretty stiff, even full length air max. Most of Nike's technology is based on the transfer of energy, but when you are just standing there, you don't feel the effects. Full length zoom is plush, but it's a technology that you probably won't find in runners (which would provide more comfort for prolonged casual wear over basketball sneakers). The next best thing is foam, but Nike's best foam technology is Lunarlon and Nike runners have targeted Lunarlon, meaning if you are standing still, most of your weight distribution is going to be on the phylon (or cushlon) that is stiffer. That's why I would look at other brands like Adidas' Boost or Under Armour's MicroG. Although, I think MicroG has been getting stiffer lately, they will still feel responsive, but I am not sure about the actually plushness.

Yeah I find Lunar shoes to have a sinking like feeling, and nor none of it at all since it like you said its targeted.  You would think the boost shoes would have to much a of a soft feeling so you'll be sinking but its firm enough that they hold structure.

As for Micro G, you're right.  Its getting stiffer but I would call it as a firm like foam, giving you a responsive like feeling.

Since the OP however works for Nike its gonna look bad I guess if his shoes doesn't have the swoosh logo...  So try something with Lunar in it.

guys, he's working retail...at nike. slim chance he's just gonna be standing still around all day. gonna be walking to and from the stock room, helping customers, etc.

unless you're a security guard...anything will do. but like the previous poster said, you won't get a choice. you'll get issued shoes, shirt and shorts.
