NFL Week 5 In Review...

SD quietly moving along as a top AFC team.

Todd Haley's offense and goal of Ben avoiding sacks is so freaking boring

And ineffective

You really want Tomlin and Haley gone done you?

Is that how most Steeler fans feel right now?

Not me. Keep Tomlin. Haley can go. But then again Arians wasn't well liked either. And whoever is hired after Haley won't be liked either.

No one can save that ****** NYJ offense. The QB isn't the biggest problem.

Andy Dalton wasn't the biggest problem for the Bengals O last night.

Need Eifert back badly.

Hue seemed to get away from the gameplan. Panicked and we didn't run the ball because NE scored quickly.

Run defense hast to be address. Really hurting that Geno isn't 10%, he's flashed, but not the consistently dominant Geno that we're used to.

Huge difference without Burfict out there.

Still not souring on the team from this game, but it would've been a strong statement to go in there and win it.

He's really not that bad, he has his WTF moments, but it's not his fault that the oline is inconsistent and can't pass block for ****, or that every time you turn around there's some dumb *** penalty being committed, negating any big play they make. Ben has habits of holding on to the ball way longer than he should (been writing that sentence his whole career), which doesn't help either. If he would stop falling in love with empty sets and feed those two monster RBs, they'd be more than fine. The Carolina game tells you everything this offense needs to do for the rest of the season.

- Not even mad the Jets suck, would love a top 5 pick and a real rebuild. Clean out the front office, coaches and everything. Just start new.
- Only feel bad for Geno because he has been placed in such a ****** situation and been asked to do something he wasn't ready for. Still think he could have been halfway decent if given a better fit.
- Peyton...clockwork.
- NFC North sucks so it looks like we'll be getting the Packers losing in the first round of the playoffs again and Mike McCarthy getting to keep his job.
- Brian Hoyer is a good QB, makes it interesting to see what happens with Manziel down the line.
- San Fran's demise has been greatly exaggerated.
- Falcons are a nice team if we are playing video games but otherwise, meh.
- New England played well last night but I'm still not convinced.
- NFC vs. AFC disparity is gone, divisions are pretty even at this point.
- Revis still the best corner in the game

Texans
- In desperate need of a QB
- very winnable game, oh well
- next weeks game is more important but it would've been cool to win this one

NFL
- cowboys defense has played better than expected but I still think they'll be below average
- Gg to the cowboy fans who are cool
- Peyton :pimp: reaching another milestone
- lions, damn man
- Brady's demise was greatly exaggerated
- I thought for a second there Alex Smith was actually going to lead his team to a win, and then... Well Alex Smith happened

COWBOYS

4-1 :smokin
-good physical game Houston. I see you foster.
-Marco fumbling again. Leading rusher or not, he needs to sit a series next time
-good job limiting watts impact.
-defense held Houston to 4-13 on third downs. IMO that won us the game.
-everyone laughed when jerry signed McClain. Boy is all over the field, run or pass, making plays.
-Seattle next week....CANT WAIT!!!

NFL
-bengals snapped back to reality.
-good comeback for hoyer
-Philly keeps winning so I'll give credit. Still can't run, still not playing D, and being unbalanced will come back to bite them...I guarantee it.
-San Fran and New Orleans NEEDED those wins yesterday to keep their head above water.
-giants back to looking like themselves.
-stafford, one step forward 2 steps back.
-bears.smh.
-chargers :smokin

Only 3 TE's ever have reached 10k yards. Jason Witten, Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez. :smokin  :nthat: :pimp:

Lance Moore catches his second pass of the year midfield and what does he do? Gets up and spikes the ball :smh:

The penalties are out of control and mostly mental penalties instead of being physically unable to compete. 2 offsides on the kickoff fouls? Personal fouls everywhere. False starts all the time? Just a dumb team and I put those issues on Michael

As far as Haley, Pitt fans won't be so quick to dismiss a creative mind like Arians again. Todd loves a few things. First is 3rd and 4, the second is an empty set or shotgun when within one yard of a first down

Seriously though, Ben needs to scramble, have guys deep and launch. That and running the ball is how they got the two recent ones (all six actually)

Jets

I hope they at least saw Gone Girl

Quarterback Geno Smith and a few other teammates missed team meetings Saturday night because they went to see a movie and didn't make it back in time, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Yea, but Arians was getting Ben KILLED out there. He also fell in love with empty sets on 3rd and 1. Like, what the **** is wrong with these guys?. Truthfully, the Steelers offense is loaded, so I can understand when Haley seems like he doesn't know what to do, but if there's been one consistent so far this season besides AB, it's Bell and Blount. Use them.

And yea, Lance Moore is obviously in Tomlin's dog house somehow. That **** he pulled isn't gonna make it any better.

I thought they just got that stat wrong when I saw it. I thought Gates had hit 10,000 already.

The Jets are so horrifically built.

They're not "horrifically" built, because they do have a solid front 7. It's just that the secondary and some parts of the offense were poorly assembled. Also, having an offensive coordinator not putting Geno Smith in the best situations to succeed is also hurting their young QB's development in the NFL.

There's plenty of blame to go around in all different sort of directions here. It's just not coming from one singular source.

lions and bears :smh:

philly defense is suspect.

panthers with a good win.
falcons and saints are playing like garbage.
the bucs are a few plays from being in the mix. i think they will still surprise some teams.

needed the 9ers to beat the chefs but they are still bunz.
cardinals will be ok.
rams have great pieces.

bengals gonna bengal
browns in the cut.

pats that good or bengals that bad :nerd:
orton will help the bills make some noise in the division.

business as usual for the colts.
fitzy :smh:

chargers need to start losing.

chefs let one go.

broncos :smokin . i hope the defense continues to get better and the offense stays consisted.

Eagles D is not as bad as it looked yesterday; problem is the corners are basically rent a corner until the off season and they do suck. It's time to let Boykin play full time and see what he's got.

Davis deserves blame for going into the Prevent; worst defense in all of football, they were pounding Austin Davis all day and then they just let him throw the ball without pressure

Am I the only one not impressed with the Cowboys thus far? I just know sometime during the course of the season, the Cowboys and Romo will find a way to implode and miss out on the playoffs AGAIN.

It's like clockwork for this team. Also, Demarco Murray isn't going to continue to run this hard for the entire season. Something's gotta given eventually. The guy fumbles the ball way too much for my liking.

The secondary and the offense are horrifically built. Is that better? Geno is not going to be put it any kind of good position when there is little to no talent on the offensive side of the ball. But Geno is not that good to begin with.

You can make a case for the secondary, because the last two "high" draft picks the Jets used to bring in a CB so far has turned out to be complete busts. Kyle Wilson has been showing for the past 2 seasons that he's not going to be the player the Jets were hoping for (he's not even good at covering the slot) and Dee Miliner is anything less terrible.

For some reason, the team cannot draft CB's. Although, they happen to do a great job with defensive ends

The poorly built offensive unit falls on the hands of Idzick. The guy needs to put better players on the field for Geno to throw the ball too. I still think if we had a consistent run game, Geno would be in a much better situation.

No clue why the jets want Vick to start.

No clue.

I don't think they want Vick to startt, per say. They just needed to put him in the game yesterday to try something new.

Plenty of people aren't high on the Cowboys. Great O line. Don't see Murray playing a full season and their defense is not good. They've only played one good team and lost. Rams gave them a W and Houston had their chances. Romo is also one hit away from another back injury.

Rivers is in rare form right now got those Charger boys rolling

-Bolo Rivers for MVP

-Rivers is MVP at this point; 70 pt point differential for the Chargers

He was able to get rid that horrible Norvell Disease. Thank God for McCoy/Telesco.

all the praise he's been getting, well deserved... but the Defense is QUIETLY making plays and is only allowing 12.6 ppg. Brandon Flowers has been a ballin since he arrived. Probably the best off-season acquisition.

6 straight shutout quarters and the Jets Offense didn't cross midfield until a PI call midway through the 4th quarter.

SD quietly moving along as a top AFC team.

Perfectly fine by me. Keep the attention on the Broncos, Seahawks, etc...
