Javale wouldn't be a bad pick-up. He can be good defensively, you don't need him to be an offensive threat, just hold it down defensively that's it. But I can seriously see the Spurs or the Mavs gunning for him so Texas has one more guy to be in those grocery store commercials.

He's not as good as DJ, but for the 2nd unit, for a controlled amount of time, he can have a similar impact. Their skillsets are very similar. DJ's motor is just out of this world. Our depth leaves a lot to be desired, but with Javale we can at least nullify that on the defensive end.

I thought the OKC deal with Harden had more to do with them choosing to keep Ibaka instead. Ibaka makin 12.5 mil a year now. Harden making 15 mil a year now. Harden got a longer deal. And more guaranteed money in Houston. Harden got the max in Houston. Ibaka deal is all incentive based. OKC should have not paid Ibaka and paid James.

He would flourish for LA, but I think what holds him back is his "Shaqtin' a Fool" reputation. He would beast defensively. I think Doc or Pop would be able to get the most out of him. I mean Doc makes Glenn Davis look respectable as a NBA player.

How does marketability as a Champion factor into this? Would a player making less from his team contract but winning championships have a chance to earn more from endorsements as said champ? Just curious.

As great as Harden is; if he was on that OKC team he'd still be a 3rd option. Which means his endorsement money would be limited since he couldn't playon the ball the way he plays now with the Rockets or get the number of minutes.

Harden made the right decision IMO; chip or not. Max deal, chance to be "the man", GM and Owner committed to winning; can't beat that. Honestly, I think it worked out great for both teams.

What's to say that if a player takes one max deal, that there will be more max deals coming? Like honestly, how many more max deals do people think Derrick Rose has, or even Melo?  These players know that 2-3 max deals in a row isn't a guarantee , wear and tear, and injuries put a stop to that kind of money real quick so they have to strike while the iron is hot.  And sometimes being a champion doesn't always equate to outside endorsements. Kawhi won a chip, and finals MVP, where do you see him at when the Spurs aren't on television?

Rumor has it harden was going to walk either way
I always thought that he would walk. We're not talking Jr. Smith talent, that man can flat out play, and I never thought it was about money. There wasn't enough ball for those three guys there. He knew KD and Russ wasn't leaving. So he could be option number 1, and get paid more to do it, who wouldn't have done it?

What did he do after that series though? What has he done in Houston? I'll stand by my claim.
Didnt he take a team with parsons & lin as the 2nd & 3rd option to the playoffs with no training camp or preseason with that lotto team

No

Either way, I don't think Harden would have worked out in OKC. He's become a better player but there's not enough ball for all three of them. And Harden is not better than KD or Russ.

I hate seeing Ibaka take 3s. I hate seeing any 4 or 5 take 3s. Aldridge shooting 3s drives me crazy. All should be under the basket where they belong. Ibaka should be playing way better than what he has been.

man i always feel kinda weird talking to older white folks, i always feel like they're probably racists or something

That to me comes down to coaching. Brooks allows it and it is dumb to me.  The only 4 that should be trying to knock down three's is Dirk because that is what his game has always been. But Ibaka, no way. I could see Pop legit benching Duncan for it, and Parker just for passing him the ball.

The most okc could offer harden was 4 years 60 mill.. Because westbrook was already designated their 5 year player (as I literally just said above)

Other teams could offer their 5 year distinction

The choice wasn't between harden and ibaka (again as I literally just said above).. They tried signing both, ibaka signed his deal 1st.. They continued to negiotate with harden

Harden and his agent were aware teams were will to give him their 5 year distinction which would give him 80 mill

If it was about money for okc, they still had the ability to amnesty perkins

Man Yall are trippin. If harden stayed people would of came like they did for Cleveland to win free championships in Okc

I don't even know what to think about Hubie saying that a whole 36 years ago.  If he said it like last week during a game then whoa, but 36 years ago, I don't know.  It's not as if he is Paula Dean or something, or maybe he is, I don't care. I wont waste too much time on it because if Barkley had said it then it would be funny to most, but Barkley didn't say it, so it is what it is.
