They want to get him involved in every possession while he is on the floor....Posting, screening, passing

They don't go into games saying hey Tony and Manu do work and if thats not open pass it to Tim, its actually quite the opposite. Tim is involved every play, Tony isnt

You have the watch the Spurs enough to tell that they aren't using Duncan as a third option.

They are Manu and Tony make all the decisions. Manu said so himself during the finals. He said something along the lines of credit tim for allowing me and tony to take over the offense.

They transitioned from post heavy attack with cutters running off tim, to a spread pick and roll offense with the PG (Manu/Tony sometimes patty mills) making all the decisions. The on off stats bear this out, the offense gets way worse when manu or tony sit, than it does when duncan sits.

Ad is nice but how much better are we expecting him to get? Seems like we see a young cat with potential and expect them to improve by leaps and bounds when the truth is they are likely already close to full capacity. Lebron is a very rare example of a guy who just steadily improved in all facets of the game

must admit, i dont like lebron, but i respect his game. he has done exactly what he should and has improved every summer. Hes a legit 3pt shooting threat now. Leaving him open at the 3 isnt smart anymore. The last thing he could  work on now would be handles. But hes not that type of player to begin with, he relies on strength and power so im not sure i can hold his lack of handles against him.

Even if ad doesn't get 10x better he will get smarter and wiser. When your young u can be great but make a lot of mistakes.

Didn't realize we had the Cavs and Raps back-to-back. That's rough, but gotta get at least one. If we can't win both and I have to pick, I'd prefer winning the game tonight.

Very tough, but the first game of a back to back is always the one you wanted to steal. This along with the Dallas OKC back to back is why I wanted those BKN and NOP games. I wanted to go 6-2 on this, with the two losses being one of the two on those back to back sets.

We'll see what happens. Wouldn't be surprised if they took both these games against the cavs and the raptors. At the same time, wouldn't be surprised if we dropped both. JJ being out really hurts man.

There turnover problems are a complete reasonable reason for thinking they might be in for trouble against the right matchup

But.

The perimeter oriented stuff is nonsense, Duncan was the third option the spurs offense was built around surrounding Manu and Tony with 3 shooters and running spread pick and roll.

The gsw offense in terms of shot distribution is not disimilar from Miami, the Mavs, and the Spurs, the 3 past championship winners.
Past 4 Finals participants: PIP=Points in paint

2014 Heat: 101.4 ppg, 38.7 PIP (61.8% points from outside of the paint), 24.7% of points from 3s

2014 Spurs: 105.6 ppg, 45.6 PIP (56% points from outside the paint), 24.2% of points from 3s

2013 Heat: 102.6 ppg, 41.1 PIP (60% points form outside the paint), 25% of points from 3s

2013 Spurs: 101.7 ppg, 44.2 PIP (56.5 % points from outside the paint), 23.6% of points from 3s

2012 Heat: 97.9 ppg, 42.3 PIP (56.7% points from outside the paint), 17.9 % of points from 3s

2012 Thunder 102.6 ppg, 41.3 PIP (59.7% points from outside the paint), 20.5% of points from 3s

2011 Heat: 102.1 ppg, 37.5 PIP (63.2 % points from outside the paint), 19.1% of points from 3s

2011 Mavericks: 100.2 ppg, 36.1 PIP (64 % points from outside the paint) 24.1 % of points from 3s

2014 Warriors: 111.4 ppg, 45.9 PIP (58.8% points from outside the paint) 28.2% of points from 3s

So even though the PIP percentages are somewhat similar, none of the other participants have been as reliant on the 3 point shot as GS is currently, it's not Rockets level but it's close. None of the other ones have had more than a quarter of their points come from the 3 point line. And that's over the course of an entire season, GS has actually been closer to a 1/3 f their points coming from 3 point range (which is Rockets level) over the last couple weeks when they've "struggled".

I dont know where you are getting the on and off stats bear this out

They say the offense is better when Tony sits and worse when Manu sits

The Spurs also won multiple games in the playoffs when Tony and Manu barely play or play horribly.

They don't when Duncan does

Im just telling you, a team I watch. Out all the big 3. Tony is the least valuable to winning followed by Manu then Tim
