Wait what? Who looks at Byron Scott in a more positive light or a positive light in general. Outside of the braindead Jim Buss
Just in general. Like Reggie earlier in the 3rd quarter was talking how the LAL braintrust know this is going to be a process and they have to be patient and are all in behind Scott.

Like, why weren't they all in with D'antoni? D'antoni's roster was just as bad if not worse and he was far better in my opinion, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
dantoni's system was amazing for our guys last year. kendall marshall was second in the league in assists per game. the clippers got fooled into thinking farmar could still play basketball. casual fans got fooled into thinking nick young was good at basketball. meeks got a nice contract with the pistons

dantoni has been getting guys paid since 04

I agree, I don't think they have a braintrust at all

but I think Magic, and reggie, and others opinion on the B Scott hire represents a lot of Laker fans opinion on B. Scott. I've literally heard it myself on multiple occasions. Maybe not on NT, but in general the consensus is a lot more positive with Scott than D'antoni.
I don't know what Laker fans thought, but I just quick searched for Byron Scott here on NT and there are like 20 posts of how bad we thought Scott was as a coach in October

I'm telling you though, D'Antoni would have never gotten another chance if not for Buss. There is a reason he hasn't gotten a phone call and he never should have by Buss in the first place

hope our management just saw how quick cleveland was able to rebuild thanks to bscott and thats why he's coaching the team right now

there's an inspirational raptors ad where they act like beating the 72-10 bulls once in the regular season is like winning a championship

I'll never understand why theres so much discussion on coaching on teams that are tanking. I can see if there is some expectations that aren't being met...but how are earth is there a Lakers thread where people are praying for every loss AND picking the coach apart.

The team isn't playing for anything. The past couple years has been nothing but an evaluation process for the young guys and that falls on the entire organization...not just the coach.

Beverley in, Wall out of skills contest

NEW YORK -- Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley will replace Washington Wizards guard John Wall in the All-Star skills challenge.

The skills challenge will be held Saturday night at Barclays Center as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend in New York. Two players will compete simultaneously on an identical obstacle course that tests dribbling, passing, agility and shooting skills.

The league announced Tuesday that Beverley will be paired against the Phoenix Suns' Isaiah Thomas in the eight-player challenge. Beverley is averaging 10.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in his third season with the Rockets.

The defending skills challenge champion is Trey Burke of the Utah Jazz.

The All-Star Game will be held Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Because byron scott is an *** hole and nobody likes him

And as far as young guys? What young guys? All of our young guys are god awful.

Ed davis and tariq black are our only young guys because randle is done.

The rest of our roster are d league players who were drafted late first, second round, or undrafted, nick young, and boozer

In the battle of development/process vs results, Byron is failing at both.

Lakers aint trying to evaluate young guys. Come on now. The real situation is that management decided to stick with Kobe, which I don't blame them ONE BIT, and they got stuck between a rebuild and trying to contend for the playoffs

That's a tough situation for any coach, I'll admit that, but at the same time I'll almost guarantee that D'Antoni and Scott have seen their last days of coaching
