That's graat and all, but I like certain things in a PG. I don't feel like my PG has to be an amazing shooter. I look for quality of leadership, ability to get others involved, high IQ, good defender and someone I trust with the game on the line. Also, if his game can translate no matter who he plays for makes a difference. i love Curry as a player, but he would be my 4th or 5th selection if I'm choosing a PG to start my team with.

And I just don't see the gap between Russ and Wall being that large to act like it's impossible for Wall be ahead of him soon. You have to consider being a complete point guard as well.
I'm not sure how many GSW games you have checked out this year but Steph definitely improved on the defensive end and looks great so far, however he hasn't really been tested by an elite point guard, yet. It sounds like you really value the intangibles in your point guard and Steph has it and everything you listed.

I don't see why not, his roll has just changed.

He's doing what he has to do for them to succeed and he's shooting lights out.

Secondary ball handler and he's still basically @ 5 APG, not bad.

So then how are you comparing him to dudes who are the primary ballhandlers on their squads?

I'm not even going to entertain that.

VP brings up a good point. I don't know how you quantify someone like Kyrie as a better PG when he's not facilitating any offense or passing the rock at the same clip as Wall. It's almost like comparing two different positions.

It doesn't overvalue anything.

All it does it take stats from box score, adjusts for pace and spits out a number.

It's not a great way of measuring defensive impact but it's pretty spot on offensively.

It doesn't value everything the same way, therefore some things can be overvalued. And thanks for pointing out what we already knew. It doesn't take into account defensive impact. Wall is the better defender and at worst the same offensively. So no, Lowry is not outplaying Wall. Geez

Son just stop quoting me, you don't know what you're talking about.

Not even gonna acknowledge you anymore,

Wall is better than Kyrie because there's this thing called defense and Kyrie doesn't know what it is.

I don't consider him elite in all of those areas. When thinking about playing against the Warriors, I'm more worried about Curry's shooting than anything. He doesn't scare me in other category. I don't fear that he will take my PG out the game with his defense, I don't fear that he will get the rest of the team going, etc. It's simply his shooting I'm worried about.

And no I wouldn't take Conley over Curry.

Curry doesn't have high IQ or get teammates involved.

I give up.

If he's merely an elite shooter then that means Conley etc are statistically average? Be consistent you homer

It doesn't matter what YOU consider him because he is elite in most of those areas,

Saying I value those things more in a PG doesn't mean Curry doesn't do it. This is a Grizz argument all over again  . People putting words in my mouth. I do think he lacks it more so than orher PG's. That doesn't mean he's better at it. What makes him elite is his shooting. I think what makes a player like Wall, Paul, Russ, etc is their intangibles.

I never said he was better, I said he was more efficient, which he is.

To me they're pretty equal as of right now.

They play the same position, they're just different players who play different roles.

Were people not comparing Rose/Wall just a few years ago?

Are they not 2 totally different players?

You have yet to refute ANYTHING anyone has said of merit, but I don't know what I'm talking about. Alright
Let's hope he entertains everyone with a response.

If we're lucky that is...

Edit - Forgot the laughing emoji that makes my post relevant =

Rose has ALWAYS facilitated the offense. There is a difference between the role Rose plays on the bulls and what Kyrie does for the Cavs (even pre-lebron). He (Rose) compares more to Wall than Kyrie does.

Kyrie, is essentially a small 2-guard. Nothing wrong with it because he's a good player...but he's not anywhere close to being a top PG, if you want to call him that, in this league.

I really don't see how the two compare.

Young guns buying in. They still need an above average wing defender to take the next step.

What's the next step? They can do nothing and are still very likely to make the conference finals.

Rose isn't essentially a small 2? Um, alright.

I never said Rose didn't facilitate.

I'm saying him and Wall are different players that were compared at one point, that's all.

And if Kyrie isn't close to being a top PG and Wall is, then I don't even know what to say.

He's 2 years younger and already better offensively.

You're misconstruing what I'm saying, bruh.

Rose isn't a small 2, because he facilitates the offense and everything runs through him.

The role of a PG = facilitating the offense. I brought up facilitating, because that is something Kyrie doesn't do well/do as much as guys like Rose, Curry, Wall, *Conley, etc. It's been that day since day 1 in the league for him.

Please let me know the next time you see Kyrie set up a teammate for an open shot.

Idk, I've always viewed Rose as an undersized 2.

I guess we just look @ things differently.
