I would have to disagree with you, hes second place and theres nothing wrong with that. But Tim Duncan has been the best defensive player in the league this year and is carrying a teams defense at 38 years old at that.
Draymond is the best defender on the best defense in the league while guarding either the best wing player or power forward on the opposing team.

He's DPOY and Tim is second actually.
That team also has way more plus defenders than we do. They have Bogut, an elite post defender and Klay Thompson an on the cusp of being elite wing defender. We have Tim Duncan and Danny Green. Not counting Kawhi being that hes missed a ton of games but Tim Duncan has been putting that defense on his back.

I respect your difference of opinion though, we'll see come seasons end what happens.

Doc Rivers is a good coach...

Good, yes. Great, no. Among current coaches, Pop is in a class by himself. I'd put Rick Carlisle next after him. Doc is in a tier somewhere after that.

And unfortunately, I think Doc is actually a worse front office executive than he is a coach, so there's that...

Carlisle is an excellent coach. Sort of underrated by some. Guy got stiffed by Detroit and ran into some bad luck in Indy.

The Clippers, who have lost 4 straight, have the hardest schedule in the West over the next 15 games as they play 12 teams over .500.

:x

Blake sure picked a great time to come up with a Staph infection. :smh:

You're going to not count Kawhi who is the best wing defender in the league cause he missed games but include Bogut who's missed just as many?

Draymond carried them through his absence.

Green's defense has improved leaps and bounds as well, dude is one of the premier shot co testers at the SG position.

Sorry but, Doc Rivers is a GREAT coach...

Rick is a fantastic coach. The Malace in the Palace cost him an opportunity for a championship in Indiana. I thought it was brilliant using a zone defense against the Heat that year.

That was bad wording on my part. What I really mean was "Not counting kawhi who has missed a ton of games" implying that the best perimeter defender in the league is gone and that opens up way more driving opportunities for opposing teams.

My bad breh

I agree, but like other black coaches he's constantly thrown through the ringer by fans and by the media.

What I will say though, is that the Coach/GM thing isn't a good look.  It's too bad they let Neil Olshey go to Portland, because Doc needs to delegate his powers of roster management to a designated GM.

time to kick em while they're down

He's really underrated.

Feel bad for him because that Rondo trade kills any chance they had at contending, he's a horrible fit for Rick system, luckily they can wash their hands of him.

Not sure how Miami and the Clippers are on Ray's list if he really wants to win. Wizards are kinda a stretch but I'll give it to him.

Doc owes Thibs a couple million.
you mean doc owes kg , pierce and Allen right. ..

Doc has never done anything. Thibs either. How does thibs get a rep as a good coach. What has dude done as a hc ...

Thibs put that defensive system in place for those guys to flourish, not Doc.

Thibs may not be "great" HC but you can't deny what those Celtics teams did on defense that year.

g they need to stop playing & just hire pringles as the oc & let him n thibs cook

eh i won't say the rondo trade was horrible just yet i think carlisle will make it work by season's end.

The Mavs are at their best when they have Chandler + 4 shooters, offense is basically unstoppable.

Meaning HarrisBarea/Haveitall/Parsons/Dirk/Tyson.

Rondo needs to have the ball in his hands and is the worst shooting guard maybe even player in the league besides Andre Roberson.

Defenses will never have to respect his jumper and it creates spacing issues which are death in today's league.

He also stifles the **** out of Parsons who plays great when he's able to share playmaking duties with Monta and creating shots as a focal point of the offense.

There is nothing to figure out, Rondo sucks on their roster with their system.

The only solution is to bring him off the bench in a small ball lineup which is hard with elite bigs in the West.

& also, try telling a guy as egotistic as Rondo to come off the bench.
