Ford's 5.0 Big Board:
1. Jahlil Okafor

Okafor is one of the most dominant freshman big men I've ever seen. He's absolutely destroying defenses right now. In his past five games, he's averaging 23.2 PPG and 10.4 RPG while shooting a crazy 74 percent from the floor. Okafor now leads all players in the NCAA in PER. While scouts can nitpick about his pedestrian defense, the truth is that players his size with offensive polish come around once in a decade. He might never be Anthony Davis because of his lack of elite athleticism, but he looks like a lock to be a 20-and-10 guy in the NBA someday.
2. Emmanuel Mudiay

We're all still waiting to see if Mudiay will play another game in China. He has been out since late November nursing an ankle injury. That injury, sources say, is healed. However, former NBA guard Will Bynum has taken his place in the rotation and is playing well. That could be the explanation, though many of the NBA scouts I've spoken with believe he has decided to shut it down for the season. However, a source close to Mudiay told me they do anticipate that Mudiay will return to the court. The question is when. Regardless, he continues to be in the mix for the No. 1 pick. If a team is looking for a guard, he's far and away the best prospect on the board.
3. Karl Anthony-Towns

Towns has been pretty quiet offensively for Kentucky. He hasn't made more than three field goals in a game in a month and had zero against North Carolina. However, he continues to be a beast on the boards, for the most part, and an elite shot-blocker. Scouts don't seem to be deterred by Towns' offensive slump. He's playing in a unique setting, surrounded by eight players who all can score. While his case for being the No. 1 pick might be slipping, he still looks like a lock for the top four.

Too lazy to copy and paste the other scouting reports.

4. Kristaps Porzingis
5. Kevin Looney
6. Justise Winslow
7. Willie Cauley-Stein
8. Myles Turner
9. Kelly Oubre
10. Mario Hezonja

They showed Nick Young's stats during the broadcast last night

I just thought it was weird and interesting

39% FG
43% 3PT
90% FT ( Top 6 in the league)

What's going on with Stanley Johnson is his stock falling?

11. Stanley Johnson

he board is pretty fluid between Nos. 5 and 12. Johnson could end up just as easily going fifth or sixth as he could 11th. Johnson was replaced by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson in the starting lineup on Sunday against Arizona State. However, by the start of the second half, Johnson was back with the first team. It appears that there have been some concerns about Johnson's defensive effort as well as a tendency for the ball to stop moving when he's on the floor. Those are minor issues overall and everyone expects Johnson to continue to play the alpha-dog role for Arizona. His shooting has been especially impressive this season; he's making 52 percent of his 2-point jumpers and 45 percent from 3. It's his percentage at the rim (just 48 percent) that has raised some eyebrows.

I know Kawahi is hurt and all and they may be missing other players, idk (I never watch San Antonio), but looking at Detroit, it's crazy to see how one player can have that much of an effect(or affect?) on a team.

But miss me with that I don't wanna win ****
I can't miss you with that, because you're with that.

You come in this thread as a Laker fan happy to lose, so that would mean you dont like winnning.

If you're only interested in rings you might as well just come back when we have a playoff team (like a true bandwagoner).

Never been a band wagoner son. **** outta here.

And that's black and white thinking. The world is grey.
A laker win this season means nothing. Last year the occasional win didn't hurt cause we had a pick regardless. This year every loss contributes to securing the pick. You get a nice piece like mudiay okafor or Johnson. Pair that with randle and a free agent like dragic. We're talking about a solid team.

This team? Bums.

So **** outta here with that.

Detrooiiiiiit Basketbaaaaaaal, Jennings just hit a game winner vs Spurs

Calm down band wagoners. We're rooting for a better draft pick so obviously we don't like winning.

Yet we're in here discussing the Lakers almost every day, meanwhile most of the "real fans don't want to see losses period" "smh at the idiots who thought Kobe would be a shell of himself (after 2 preseason games shooting 38%)" haven't been seen in months. If you want to start calling out bandwagoners you can start with them.

Winning is black and white man, you either win or you lose. I wanna win all games, I aint happy losing but if ya'll are that's how ya wanna do it.

Somebody's attendance in a thread doesn't determine how much of a fan they are, this tank talk along with losing sways me away from the thread alot. I didn't even say he was a bandwagoner dude is just mad defensive, Essential, CP are the only ppl I know that are in Lakers threads every year I aint keeping tabs on nobody.

In context Philly, NY & Minnesota are already dead set in for Top 5, Detroits gonna sway right back in there so I'm already pretty sure we aint getting that pick.

Rest easy man. I know everyone is tired of the tank. We all hate it. But it's a necessary evil this year.

After we secure these picks, tanking is over with. Mid April, when the 2014-15 season is over, tanking is over. Next year we go back to trying to win every single game we can.

Hang in there man, 3 more months. Thas all.

You should forward that to all those teams so they don't have to bother playing the games!

The Lakers are right in the middle of it which is why people talk about it, and why it's a part of Laker discussion everywhere and not just this thread. I know there are people who hate it and that's fine, but there's no use whining about it.
