I mean, we only started saying early LAST year that Nash was done, Kobe was going to be a shell of himself, Nick wasn't as good as people hype, Jordan Hill was meh, even if Randle was here, it means less time for Ed Davis.

And we all said the minute Boozer signed he was trash.

There were plenty of people, plenty, that said top 5 was easily within our grasp. Complaining about Randle bein out (and Nash    ) is laughable.

If Mitch and Byron embraced their situation, like Phil, we'd have fewer than 5 wins right now. No winning in San Antonio, or Houston, or comeback vs the Pacers, or beating the Raptors, etc.

If bottom 5 is so easily within our grasp why is there so much pandemonium after every win

I feel you CP, but I will be extremely happy if we stay at #4 till the end of the season and land the 4th pick. If Silver wants to give us # 1 then even better...lol

Blowout win vs Hornets. Deserved W.
Hard fought win in Atlanta before they became this Atlanta. Deserved W.
Comeback at Houston, no Dwight, second of a back to back. Stupid, meaningless W.
Comeback vs Toronto, no Derozan. Stupid, meaningless W.
Win at Detroit, with Josh Smith. Deserved W.
Comeback vs Kings, no Cousins. Stupid, meaningless W.
Comeback at Spurs, half team out. Stupid, meaningless W.
Comeback at Wolves, Kobe passes MJ. Eh, ok W.
Hard fought win over Warriors, no Bogut. Ehhhhh, .......ok W, I guess. Shouldn't have but whatever.
Hard fought win at Denver, could have let go, but decent. Ok W.
Comeback vs Pacers, Kobe GW. Stupid, meaningless W.

Half of their 11 W's, pointless, without reason. Comebacks, vs teams missing best players, etc. Embrace their circumstance the way Phil is, they have 4-5-6 wins, tops. Prime position for a top 3 pick, and keep the 2017 pick, no matter who jumps up ala Cavs last year.

Simple stuff here.

Edit

I would maybe, possibly, might, kiiiiiiiiiiinda listen, if they said we don't want to do this because we want to teach Randle to ball out every night.

I'd hear that.

He died opening, *******, night. Pull the plug.

With nothing to teach that kid this year, pull the plug, wait out the Kobe contract, and get your assets back for players you don't even have anymore.

It's that simple.

The Knicks thought they were gonna be somebody this year in the East, lil bad luck, bad bounce, injury here and that, boom, Phil called it before Christmas. Done. Now he starts to rebuild, clean(er) slate, start anew with a shiny new toy next year and some cap space.

We over here with worthless vets playin for their lives to beat the Pacers, minus Paul George, at home, at the buzzer.

Every time we do that, we risk giving away multiple toys for Randle to play with.

The only thing that gets me is that the Lakers played downright horrible basketball in those earlier wins, but the other team somehow managed to play even worse. That Houston game was the worst show of basketball I've seen in a while from both sides.

At least in the wins over GS and SA they played well in some regards, can't be too mad at that.

Yeah, that's why I kinda, eh, ok, whatever with the GS game. They did kinda earn that one. GS didn't give us their best. So whatever, take the W.

Spurs tho, played with like 4 guys missing, on the road, trailing BIG early, just let that one go. I get they played hard and all that, that effort will look real nice in a Suns uniform next decade tho.  :x

 Iono, it's simple to me at least. We only been talkin about this stuff for 2 years now, we can step back and look at another team (Knicks) in a similar situation, with a similar group (Phil, Fish, star vet Melo) to compare to us, and we see them doin it right, and we still tryin to steal wins from the Thunder, Spurs, Blazers, etc. :x :smh:

Today's not looking too good. Indiana may pull out a win. Can't say that for the other teams.

Lakers All- Access Event

Nick

Linsanity looks like he has a prosthetic leg. lolz

Because we have guys like Lin and Nick trying to play hero ball and win a meaningless game.
Dey don't care.  They collect the pay checks, get to live the life, get to rub knees and soak in tubs with Kobe.  Who cares really.  Enjoy that life.  At least they'd be on Wikipedia as Kobe's team mates during his finale.

Kinda hard to pull the plug after the first game of the year when your most tradeable piece can't be moved until halfway thru the season. With that said, I doubt they would have done that even if they could so it's moot. Even without stooping to the pathetic lows of a new York or philly the lakers are still in the mix for bottom 5 so really no need for discussion

at thinking the knicks or 6ers are more pathetic than us

also, any way we can trade mitch for danny ainge?

I don't think we make any moves for any picks...

Btw this is a VERY active trade market right now..

There has to be a delusional team out here that thinks they can compete with the addition the f Jordan Hill.

Meanwhile, the Celtics add their ******* 400th First Round pick over the next 4 years, while I BEG my franchise to try and save their 2017 pick along with this years.

Question for the Lakers is if they're willing to make a deal that makes them worse this season for future picks.

Gary Collard ‏@LakerGMC 3m3 minutes ago
@forumbluegold If they are not, we are in for more than just a few years of staying bad. Already set the franchise back last winter.

Lakers have some bigs that should be attractive to teams, and even a serviceable NBA PG on an expiring deal, so where are the trades Mitch?

Couple of comments -- draft picks are currency, don't always assume teams intend to use them. Having them gives you assets for later.

Cavs turned two highly protected picks into exactly the players they wanted... Phoenix just flipped a highly protected pick for a big man.
