This is what I expect out of Kelly. Not 20 points a night, but this is his skill set. And why I think he is a great bench piece.

He has pretty good passing vision/instinct for a big. And hits the 3 at a pretty good rate, enough that he will make you pay if you leave him open.

My only problem is that Byron will see this game as, "Look at the great game he put up as a SF, now he can play there for most of the minutes." Which is foolish. He had a good game because the Magic play horrible defense, and he got a lot of good looks. A coherent defense will always kill Ryan if he plays the 3 because they will be able to help of him and close on his shot much quick with no problem being on the perimeter. Don't even get me started on thinking Ryan can guard a SF.

At the 4 is where he can have nightly games (this season) 12, 13, 14 points. Most 4's hate guarding on the perimeter, often will give huge space for him to take a shot, especially if he's going up against a bench player.

I know that if he wants 20+ MPG he has to be able to hold his own for a handful of minutes at the 3, but exclusively at the 3? It's obvious to anybody who has ever closely watched basketball he doesn't have the ability to be exclusively a 3.

Brandon Knight is moving up in my Free Agency wants.

17.7 / 4.2 / 5.4 on .434/.409/.896 23 years old. And pretty good defender.

If you assume that Gasol, Butler, Leonard are off the list. They are 1, 2, 3... But zero chance.

It'd probably be
1. Dragic
2. Knight
T-3. D. Jordan
T-3. Hibbert (Hibbert better defender, will cost probably $4mil/year less, but is such a black hole on offense it gives me pause)
5. Reggie Jackson
6. Wes Matthews
7. Asik
8. Monroe
9. Robin Lopez

Yes to all but Hibbert.

I like hustlers. I like Artest. I loved Rodman. In baseball, was a huge Darin Erstad fan. Guys that aren't Griffey/Jordan/Bron, guys that aren't THE guy, but they'll hustle.

Hibbert is the opposite of hustle. Every dude up there you mentioned puts in work, at least to some degree. Hibbert is the definition of coaches creaming themself because "You can't teach height."

No.

God no.

Please god no.

Danny Green 9-11 mil?
Yep.

We saw how valuable shooting was last summer, and Green plus Matthews are really good on defense too.

I would think Wes gets more than Green. But 9-11 for Danny Green is what I think as well.

Trust me Moonman, he's one of the most underrated guys in the league. His defense is phenomenal. 11 is pushing it though, but not too crazy. I wonder if the Spurs bring him back? He would be someone I consider for the Lakers, but it's tricky because I'd rather have more established players first before adding a piece like Green.

I've bounced the idea in my head the last few weeks whether the Lakers should sign a SG and shift Kobe to SF or vice versa this summer since the SF market ain't that great FA wise. Another name to consier is Afflalo, but he's a little bit older and am just bothered by his game.
