Love is 25 years old. It would take 5+ years for us to be good?

Russell/Towns
Randle
Love
Kobe
Clarkson
Ed Davis
Houston pick
Nick Young
Mid level vet SF

Wouldn't be any good next year?

And the 25+ mil cap space in 2016, along with another year for the young guys wouldn't have us competing, when Love would be 27-28 years old?

You're hindering Randle's development with Love.

Like I said, let's just agree to disagree. I think it's the absolute wrong move. and you think it's the right move. Let's just leave it at that.

Also, I blame Jeanie Buss more then Jim.

Uh, I never said "right" move.

I said stop praising/hyping other guys and knocking Kevin Love.

I already said he ain't comin here. But if he wanted to, we damn sure don't say "no thanks".

^^we have a pf . You forget we just drafted a pf.
you wanting us to sign a pf. We need every position but a pf right now. Lets see how Julius turns out first. Let him grow. Forget about love dude..getting love will be the wrong move if we could get him..

I'd be tempted to take Russell, he has a pro offensive game from day 1 and will be a 40% 3pt shooter one day.

He could be used in a Harden type role.

Towns is also great but I'd rather move up and trade with the Rockets pick to get Harrell.

So we're wrong for praising the best defensive player in the game, and the reigning finals MVP.

Remember the spurs struggling in the beginning of the year? Kawhi out, all of a sudden he's back and what do ya know, they look ready to repeat. That guy, we shouldn't praise.

But let's go out of our way to praise the guy who couldn't get it done in Minny, and is riding Lebron's coattails in a weak east.

Yes I see the logic.

Magic: "Dr. Buss consulted Jerry West... Jim Buss doesn't consult anybody."
Uhm Mitch Kupchak trained by Jerry West. Magic is a dullard.
Magic: "He hasn't once stood up to Lakers nation and said I made a mistake... Mike Brown... Mike D'Antoni"
He fired them both!!

Not to mention everyone from Jim, Mitch, Jeanie to Phil have said Dr. Buss chose Mike D'Antoni
Magic: "Jim Buss blames everyone else."
When?
Magic: "Then he criticizes me."
Again When
Actually Jeanie doesn't agree that Dr. Buss chose D'antoni over Phil. In that latest ESPN interview (seemed really awkward btw) she seemed to get angry when Jim said it was Dr. Buss' decision. It seems as if she can't accept that her dad made that call, but who knows what exactly happened. I do think Dr. Buss made the call though. He definitely didn't want Phil trying to take his son's job after he passed.

I don't get why Magic does this. Doesn't he understand that this makes the Lakers look unappealing to future free agents? Also I really doubt Buss does everything. If that was the case Kupchak wouldn't have re-signed with the Lakers.

Keep in mind Parker was out, Belli was out, Splitter was out, and probably more people.

Do I think Kawhi deserves the max-yes. Do I think he's a superstar player that everyone is hyping him up to be now-no. Would I want Love-no. Simply because I would want Randle to develop. I honestly think Randle is going to be a great player and will be better than a good portion of the guys drafted before him. I'd also want Draymond over Love too. Draymond can arguably be considered the best defensive player in the game today. It's a moot point though, both players are restricted and will be kept by their team. There is no point in throwing a max at both players, and having your money tied up during free agency knowing you aren't getting either.

This is also a great point. but I digress.

I love how at the end.... Magic says "Mitch called me up to recruit Carmelo and try to keep Pau around."

I thought it was all about Jim Buss. He makes all the decisions, and he doesn't take advice or get help from anyone.

I must have forgotten the 20+ games where Pop rests Duncan, Parker, Manu, Diaw, Green, etc etc and doesn't give two ***** about the NBA October thru January.

Oh wait, I didn't miss that.

Fair enough, the point is you're giving us ****  for praising up and coming guys like Kawhi and Dray who are stillll developing there game, and telling us we're stupid for not wanting love, a guy who is who he is. Stretch four who can't defend.

Benefit of signing/offering Kawhi and Draymond is their max is less than Love's max since they've been in the league less.

I got love for Magic and all that he's done for the organization, but his opinions man...

I like Kevin Love, dude's got game, but I don't think he's coming to LA nor would he fit well here. It'd just be more of the same mediocrity and ringless seasons.

Also cause they project at a higher ceiling then love.

Hence why I said it's a better cap number earlier.

I don't see the problem in what Magic is saying. When you hear this stuff and see how trash we've been since Jerry Buss passed it makes sense to me. Yeah he fired Mike Brown and MDA, he also hired them when they were clearly not good fits to begin with. Everybody connected with the Lakers basically says the same thing about this guy, his own damn sister lol. Dude is lost w/o any type of plan.

But he also hired Phil, back in 06, he traded for Pau, then he traded for CP3. Then he traded Bynum for Dwight and picks for Nash.

We dodged maxing Bynum for 5 years, and dwight just didn't work.

Also picks for Nash was a good move at the time. We had NO idea he would break down like he did. He was healthy the season before.

Things really haven't panned out the way they should have.

how many max contracts will be be able to handout?

if its only 2-3 then im not wasting one on a leonard/green type player

Because everything Magic said is factually wrong. Contradicting. And self serving.

He's a dullard. Pandering to dullards who want headlines and disregard details.

Magic doesn't gain anything by talking bad about Jim Buss. He sold his share, Magic doesn't need the Lakers. So why would he be self serving? And it ain't just Magic that says this about him. Everybody does. Everybody can't be lying and the proof is on the court.

Magic last year was HAMMERING D'Antoni, absolutely crushing the guy, when it CLEARLY wasn't his fault.

Magic say a single word about Byron this year in that same negative light? :nerd:

It's an agenda man. Magic out here runnin his mouth for his people, and killin anyone he don't jive with. Plain and simple.
