Eh, if/when Kobe wears down, that will help.

And Minny will get Rubio, Pek, and Martin back, that will help too.

And if Mitch is using his brain this year, he tries to sell off Lin/Hill soon as possible.

At some point, they gotta know there's too much at stake to chase an extra 3 wins or whatever like last year. If they don't get that, we're already screwed.

Hill for the great Kendrick Perkins is my favorite proposed nt trade

Lin will get us another d leaguer
He's trash

Agreed about Kobe

this dude kobe in his 19th season doing a better job of leading his team to wins than melo though

Some did...most NYK fans were delusional and some in the NBA thread. They got worst as a team but dudes were swearing up and down they were going to be a playoff team.

I'm the President of the Hill for Perkins trade.... Makes too much sense.

I think in a longshot scenario we may be able to sneak another pick for Lin.... Even for as bad as he's been for the past 2 weeks. But it's hard to tell now, have to wait until we get closer to the deadline.

A late 1st is next to impossible, but maybe a team is decimated by injures, has dead weight expirings, and need a PG. Very unlikely.
A second is a given if we try to trade him.

What's wrong with having Hill as part of our long term plans? He's young and productive and improves each year, do you all have that much faith in Randle panning out? He seems undersized and one dimensional

Because he's not a long term plan fit. He's been playing great. But I trade him for a 1st everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.. Especially with Ed Davis who is just as good. Younger and will cost less. No team is contending with Jordan Hill as part of their long term plans

Also no one has ever said Randle was 1 dimensional.. Ever.

And you never just throw away a 7th overall pick before he's even played a full season. That's silly.

What makes hill different from Horace Grant, who was on contending teams? Or haslem or varejao or AC green....all on contending teams

I just don't think we should easily dump a proven solid NBA big for just any first round pick

If your issue is Hills salary, well that's just today's NBA market. Antoine Carr and Malik Rose would get 5 or 6 mill today

As far as Randle, catches in the post faces up and drives left. No jumper, no back to the basket game

When's the last time a player like that carried a team to a championship? The league is great wings and point guards

Hill makes $9million a year. That's why. And is not a starter quality big.

Proof of that.. His per 36 numbers are in the same area of his 1st 2 years in LA.

Also Ed Davis can do what Hill does for cheaper.

I was one of the biggest proponents of Hill. But to make any plans around him is foolish. Especially at $9mil a year.

So you want to take our $30+ mil in cap and turn it into $21mil for Jordan Hill? Come on man.

he doesnt need to be the best player on our championship team

but in the last 8 years every team that has won a championship has an all star PF

hill would be a decent roll player on a championship contender

which is why we should trade him to a championship contender for kendrick perkins

Doesn't matter what Malik Rose would get. He's not playing.

Randle has the ability to take the ball in transition coast to coast. Good handle for a PF. Has good passing vision. Can rebound.

Don't give me that jump shot bull. His shot looked very good in preseason. Also there was a time Jordan Hill couldn't score outside of 3 feet.

And for all this Julius Randle isn't this or that. Jordan Hill has HUGE holes in his game as well

Randle isn't getting paid for 4 more years. Soooooooooooooooooooooooo irrelevant.

He doesn't need to carry to a title. But a guy who can average 15 & 8 for $4mil is better than a guy doing it for $9mil.

Also let me clear this up. Without Hill, we have 7 players $34mil in cap space. $32.6mil in cap if you count the Davis cap hold and that's 8 roster spots.

Let's say we luck out get the top pick. Now it's down to $27.9mil. Then add in 25th pick from Houston $27mil. 10 roster spots.

If you get the top pick you take either Okafor or Townes.. Why the hell would you keep Hill with Two guys at the 4 & 5 you just drafted?

Let's say you keep Hill. Now the Lakers are down to $18mil in cap space. Which means no room to add a Gasol or Rondo. Or Love or LeBron (neither will leave but if they did you couldn't get them). You could sign maybe a Dragic OR Jimmy Butler (Not Both) then have $3mil left over.

You're sacrificing free agents for Jordan Hill

I too miss julius :smh:

You could tell he was just coming into his own because he was starting to chirp at the refs. Step back bank shots vs big cuz, denying the longest wingspan in nba history at the rim (gobert), bullying goons like speights and evans...can't wait to watch this dude flourish

Yall see the latest eastbay catalogue magazine?

Reading page 4 made me sick to my stomach :x

Swaggy is like nick the quick.

I was young and I could be way off base, but a fan favorite that kept lakers somewhat enjoyable to watch during the down years?

if I'm off base tell me I didn't get to watch those teams. Just tape.
