Just listening to Jeanie you can tell she doesn't like the moves Jim has made. She is still heated about them passing on Phil. It was interesting hearing her basically say she's giving them 3 years to turn this around. We already know this year is gonna be pure struggle I just hope they can do something to improve this roster next summer.

Timing for Mitch to peddle Nash's paid expiring to someone. :nerd:

Okay, I'm kidding.

10 game rule in effect for Nash to get paid this year??? Or however many games it was last year for his contract to be guaranteed last year...

Can we trade him to the Suns so he can retire with them and his money will come off our books earlier

I'd rather trade him and get our own pick back. 4 draft picks fleeced from us for that bum :smh:

A lot of the blame for the disappointment with Nash during his short time with the Lakers has to go back to Jim Buss.

Him & Mitch were responsible for signing him and then after firing Mike Brown they choose to hire Pringles instead of Phil.

:smh:

Nope. The hiring was after the 8th game, six games AFTER he collided with Lillard, and the ensuing leg and back nerve issues began.

That's besides the main point.

Which is Jim Buss & Mitch thought process when it came down to hiring either Pringles or Phil was they thought they were better off with a offensive system and team built around Nash, Kobe, and Dwight. Coached in Pringles offensive system.

They wanted a faster paced offense and something to when Nash & Pringles were succesfull in Phoenix.

Everyone knew Nash during his last 2 or 3 years with the Suns already had serious back issues.

Glad nash could break the assist record as a laker. One of my favorite pgs ever with vision second to none and I wanted him in la for a minute. Wasn't expecting anything from him this season tho

Here we go again.

Jerry Buss hired Mike D'Antoni.

For Christ sake.

Even Phil said it was Dr. Buss and you know damn well if he could have send a shot at Jim for choosing MDA he would have

I get where you're comming from but, if you look at Nash's play when he came back, he was FAR from the same all star Nash that averaged 12.5 ppg and 10.7 apg on 53.2% just a few months prior. Youre right, Phil was the better choice but at that point, even in the triangle, Nash would be less servicable than Fisher.
Had he not been injured, who knows? Maybe the Lakers would have won more games early on in the season and Brown wouldn't have been fired. Maybe they would have won the Portland game and begun their momentum to win the ensuing games. Remember Brown was fired because of a 1-4 start. Hypothetically, a 3-2 start looks much better. If im not mistaken, Kobe was playing exceptionally well the first few months that season (47% fg 50% 3pt fg, NBA leading scorer). Accompany that with a healthy Nash and semi healthy Pau and Howard, and bam those games we lost early in the season suddenly seem winnable. The main reason the Lakers were losing so many games (besides defense) was that they had no servicable PGs. Blake got and abdominal injury shortly afterwards, which forces us to use DARIUS MORRIS AND CHRIS DUHON as our starting and backup point guards. Very hard to win like that.
