TWIN PEAKS to return in 2016

A few new episodes and this thread has been dead for 3 weeks now... you guys must be confused AF or not feelin' it. What are your thoughts? This Dougie thing is starting to bug me haven't seen the newest episode yet but how much longer are we gonna have to watch a guy that speaks in one word sentences... throw us a bone already lynch.

This has been incredible so far.

As dead as this thread has gotten, I was starting to think I was the only one lovin' this. Only thing I'm getting tired of is the whole Dougie storyline...I just wish it would speed up a bit. We all know Cooper will come back strong, but Twin Peaks just ain't the same without Cooper we're about halfway through the season and no one even knows about him yet.

Damn, I should've known a TP thread would exist, but I never thought to check. Glad it's here.

Watched and re-watched eps 1-5 3x already and need to rewatch ep 6 again tomorrow night after work.

So far, the key to everything seems to be all the stuff laid out in FWWM. Electricity, garmonbozia, Jeffries, everything. I'm waiting for Chris Isaak to show up. Gimme mah gatdam Special Agent Chet Desmond!

Seriously, though, it's been incredible so far. I'm wondering if as the setting starts to shift back to the town of TP we'll get more of Badalamenti's mood music during those scenes. I think that's the one thing I've missed most so far from the OG, because for all the "weird" scenes it's been all strange noises and electric humming in the background.

I was hoping the cop would haul him in for loitering at the Jimmy Stewart FBI statue and his prints would set off another agency flag. Want to see Gordon Cole holler "Albert! Holy smokes! We have a second Cooper out there!"

This worth checking out even though I only know a tiny bit abouthe series?

Watched couple videos on YouTube to get the gist of the show.. since I'd heard it spoken of before and saw it up on netflix

I thought for sure we were gonna hear something like that from Gordon and Albert when Dougie was hitting all those jackpots.

I'd absolutely say yes, especially if you like really weird, creepy, mind-messing stuff.

At this point, you should probably watch season 1, then the first 9 episodes of season 2. Then watch the last 3 or 4 episodes of season 2 (the only thing you need to know is that Wyndham Earle is Cooper's former partner who is trying to kill him and enter the Black Lodge). Then watch Fire Walk With Me, which IMO is the most important thing to do before watching the new stuff on Showtime.

All of the old stuff is available on demand on Showtime, too, btw.

I'll say this: I was like 12 when the show first aired and I was addicted to it then. To me it's the most important TV show of the last 30 years, and the new season is giving David Lynch the ability to bring his "normal" filmmaking style to the scripts Mark Frost wrote without any network TV inhibitions. It's gonna be tugh to get into if you're not used to his style, but you NEED to watch Fire Walk With Me to prepare yourself for everything in the new show. And also keep in mind that Lynch made the new season not as an 18-episode show, but as an 18-hour movie.

Good luck, and let us know what you think if you start watching it!

I could really go for the Dougie arc to conclude. It's not cinematic genius... It's just boring.

I find it more frustrating than boring. Frustrating in that I want "old" Coop back, and safe. He's too prone right now to Dopple-Coop and Bob, as well as whatever nefarious forces are lining up against him (Jeffries? The unknown billionaire? etc...)

The whole show has a lot of uneasiness about it as long as he's not back to normal, which I'm sure is exactly what Lynch wants. :\

Top 3 show on Television :pimp:

Ike The Spike :wow:

Also a great thing is you don't really need to know or watch the OG series to jump in to this

I was but a pup when the original show came on. I was way too young to follow it. I had only heard of the hype.

Fast forward 25 years later and it's on NetFlix. I decided to watch it with my wife. It was terrifying.

I jumped into this new season having never seen the OG and finished it all in a day.

I tried doing 90s season 1 first but couldnt get thru ep 1. Now after seeing this years 1st 6 i went back and im addicted to season 1...so far 5 episodes in, 3 to go then ill be onto season 2.

Should i watch the movie as well?

I love the Dougie storyline btw

"HELLOOOOOO"

Definitely watch the movie. If you never scene a David Lynch movie, I'd also watch Mulholland Drive. It would get you used to the style of the new Twin Peaks. Then you can go down the rabbit hole of David Lynch which is quite the experience.

Check out Blue Velvet too its closer to og twin peaks than anything.

Blue Velvet is the "intro" film that I recommend to everyone who's new to Lynch's work.

Here was  my progression --

1) Blue Velvet

2) Mulholland Drive

3) Lost Highway

4) Wild at Heart

5) Twin Peaks TV

6) Eraserhead

7) Elephant Man

8) Dune

9) Inland Empire

I mean we got the Chromatics and Johnny Jewel, the dude from Dirty Beaches with David Lynch's son with Trouble, and Sharon Van Etten last part. It's so amazing.

I really dug Chromatics' performance. Never heard of them before - I gotta check their stuff out.

Chromatics has been my favorite band the last 5 years. If not longer. When i saw em at the end of episode 3 in the Bang Bang club I sat up QUICK

Then I laid back down and vibed hard. Too clean.

Last nights episode was incredible. I want to binge watch this season so bad

Yeah, I can't wait to watch all 18 hours straight. I'll probably do that the final Sat/Sun before the final "Part".

And yes, this week's episode was incredible. Cobra Coop, ftw.

Since you dig Chromatics, check these few out;

Chromatics - Cherry
Chromatics - Tick of the Clock
Chromatics - Kill for Love

And then I got a few fire tracks for you to go w those,

New track I know youll like ---

And I will PM you a few more

Good stuff, thanks quell quell . Just listened to the stuff in your post, and I'll check out the all their stuff tomorrow at work. Also, that 1983 band sounds great, too. Nothing wrong at all with aittle return to New Wave, lol

I enjoyed this last episode a lot. We finally got a glimpse of the Old Coop coming back for a split second. I have been waiting for something like this since the start of the series. My mind is still confused as to how Coop got his instincts back for that short period of time.
