OFFICIAL 2015 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS OFF-SEASON THREAD (Lance, PP, Josh Smith, Aldrich - pretty nice l

yeah Jamal has to go. Hopefully we can swing something with him for a back up big or something

Still think we'll be better than a lot of people expect.. Very srs

Agree. But I'm just as happy being counted out and flying under the radar.

Dawson looking good. Looking like he's playing with a chip on his shoulder ala Draymond. Might be worth exploring.

McMorrow looked pretty good at the C too. He's a BIG body too.

Doc needs to look at some of these young guys that are ready to play...

Actually got to see the Summer League games. I like Dawson a lot. From a build and athleticism standpoint, he reminds me of Tony Allen.

He was underwhelming for me today. A lot of guys blowing by him on the defensive end. I've been hearing his shot is TERRIBLE though. If we can get him to be a lockdown defender, I don't even mind. Develop the youth Doc!

That's I want from him - defense, hustle and toughness. Hard for a rookie to be a lock down defender since they don't get the benefit of the doubt from the refs. But playing him would help start sewing the seeds, assuming he has the talent, which I think he might.

Im on my phone and don't really care to learn cap rules or study payrolls so Im hoping one of you knows the answer.

1. Who can we pair with Crawford to make the Haywood trade work? I think the difference is about 5 mil, right?

2. How much money would we be able to offer someone if we cut Haywood after the trade?

Would need to trade out $8.3mil in salary. Can only get 125% + $100K of outgoing salary. So C.J. Wilcox, Lester & Hamilton clears the $8.3mil

Factor in Roster Holds for not having 12 players (you only have 6 if you count Dawson), 5 cap holds equals about $2.625mil

Around $7mil and then $2mil of the MLE left.

I would think the Crawford/Hayward deal is off the table now that the Cavs have signed Mo Williams. They don't need Jamal now.

Not to say I've come to like the new stuff - I don't - but I'm kind of over the rebrand fiasco. I'm more heated that the roster remains filled with holes.

Hoping with a reduced role and under different circumstances, Wesley Johnson can be a serviceable NBA wing. Has the size, length, and athleticism to do so.

Agreed. For a back-up wing on a minimum deal, I'm fine with Wes.

One year deal for a guy who's played on horrible teams his entire career.

Given our lack of assets and resources, I don't mind the wes johnson signing.

especially since it's only for a year.

I really don't know why I bother with the NBA thread anymore, when it comes to the clippers. It's like a circle jerk.

Somehow, wesley johnson, in a starting lineup with Lin, Ellington, Boozer / Ed Davis, and Robert Sacre is an accurate depiction of him being trash and that playing with better players has no chance of him being more effective and impacting winning.

Wesley Johnson playing with Chris Paul and Paul Pierce and Blake Griffin is potentially far better than playing with Lin, Ellington, and Boozer.

Come on

The NBA Thread is great once you realize everybody's schtick. Lakers fans are still upset they got nothing in the off season. They laugh to hide the tears

Chester knows he knows very little about basketball. He's a football fan. He doesn't take himself serious and neither should anyone in the thread.

Seaman is a troll. Not even just in the nba thread. Every single post in every thread he makes is to get a reaction from people. I don't know how people keep falling for it.

If you learn to take none of what they say seriously, the thread is fun. Y'all gotta stop trying to defend the clippers in there  it's a losing battle.

I know you guys are reading this, too.

Yeah, I don't really let any of the regulars in the NBA thread bug me anymore. But I still get annoyed by the randoms who pop in once, say something like "Clippers will always suck ha ha" and then dip. Like, is that really necessary?

Another nice line for Dawson in SL. Wilcox seems to be playing well too and Wolters should for sure get a training camp invite. Possibly McMorrow too. He's a big dude with decent athleticism.

I'm in for McMorrow too. But what's the point is Doc has no intention of developing young talent.

My dude CJ Wilcox

Was clamoring for him to play all year last year. Love that guy man. He'll get his shot this year hopefully.

What I love about a team like the spurs is that they play their entire roster all throughout the season so come playoff time, Pop is confident in playing a cory joseph extended minutes or something like that.

If I can weigh in on Wes...

Watching Lakers the last 2 years he will be the most frustrating player you'll have.

Not because he's not good. Because he isn't. Everybody can live with bad players. But because he has all of the physical tools and ability to be a decent player and he just cannot put anything together.

maybe Clippers can turn him around. But he's shown a lack of going from Step 1 to Step 2 in development.

I guess the bright side for him is that he's going to be a role player and not a starter. That at least lessens what you expect of him.

As long as Austin Rivers and/or Crawford are on the team, Wes will NOT be the most frustrating player on the team.

My issues isn't with people thinking he might not work out. Odds are he won't. My issue is people acting like there is no chance at all for him to work out.
