OFFICIAL 2015 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS OFF-SEASON THREAD (Lance, PP, Josh Smith, Aldrich - pretty nice l

Speaking of getting guys for minimum salaries, is that all we have to work with now? (Aside from trading Crawford for someone). Do we have any other exemptions/exceptions left?

I'd like to know this as well. I know we have something. I think we have that $2.2M exception left, or whatever its called.

We still looking to trade Jamal now that we have DJ? Kind of thinking I'd like Birdman for him. Give us a good 15-17 minutes per game. Brings that attitude we've been lacking. Hustles.

Jamal is kind of waste for this team

What happened with the Denver trade?[

I don't think there were any real discussions; just rumors. Plus, with Pierce and Johnson on board now, we don't really have room for Chandler unless we play him as a small 4.

We gotta make a deep run this season cuz I'm gonna be acting like a dbag all year. Those dudes trolling this thread when DJ agreed to dallas along with the usuals from the NBA thread. Then to have him come back and be able to laugh at those same lames? Too good of an opportunity to pss up.

This should be the year we all embrace the hate . If we somehow win it all one year I'll probably get banned. haven't been this excited for a season to start since the veto year.

I know Javale wanted an unrealistic role on tbe team but had we been able to grab him and arthur off the bench? Wow.

A bench of

Rivers
Crawford
lance
Arthur
McGee

Would have been a huge upgrade imo.

Would like to see Doc get creative and work some type of deal involving crawford. Would also prefer somebody else at PG over Rivers.

Do you guys think Dawson will get any meaningful minutes? I think he can be a nice player but Idk if Doc would even give him a legit opportunity to find out.

I think its funny people saying (haters) our team is the same. No way. We have so many more pieces, to the point where we're trying to trade our only real bench guy!

I think Dawson gets 10-15 minutes, potentially. He's a great defender. And he can run. He;ll have some monster dunks this year. Doc should let him watch and learn. He's better than Barnes when Barnes first came up. Stronger and even more athletic. I'm happy we have him. Love those Spartans. I remember the last time a Spartan was available (Green) and was praying we took him.

I read a DJ Augustin for Jamal rumor? What?? That would be insanely good for us.

i thought Dawson was undersized at Michigan state and would struggle a bit because I didn't think he could play enough sf to stick in the league

However through summer league he's been mad impressive and at the very least intriguing. He deserves a look moving forward and I wouldn't be surprised if he played himself into the rotation next year even though I doubt it. Could also play some small ball 4 with him as well

Not opposed to Darrell Arthur either. Big baby surprised me last year and really gave us some quality minutes down the stretch. Him being back in the fold is a plus and I think Austin showed that he could be a valuable asset off the bench with him playing both ends of the floor, being a good spot up shooter, and someone who actually can play downhill and with pace.

Wesley Johnson is intriguing as well. All in all, cant even be mad at the creativity that doc and Dave have showed with retooling the team around our core. Have the core intact but have almost completely revamped the supporting pieces and on paper, I think we've gotten much better

Surprised nobody snatched Arthur up yet. Athletic big who can legit spread the floor?

Can't imagine him taking a minimum salary. DJ Augustine for Jamal would be a great pickup.

DJ Aug
Austin
LantZ
Arthur
Aldridge

Not much shooting, but better ball handling and ball movement off the bench.

Edit: Forgot about Wes Johnson.
This team could be really deep. Have to get a shooting PF off the bench now, and another shooter for Jamal.

Good thing potentially is that JJ will see an increase in minutes. Reddick at 33pmg would've a good look.

Cp3: 36 Mpg
JJ: 33 Mpg
PP: 26 Mpg
BG: 36 Mpg
DJ: 35 Mpg

Austin: 18-20 Mpg
Lantz: 25-28 Mpg
Wes: 18-20 Mpg

Aldridge: 15-18 Mpg

Even as GM Doc's biggest critic, I'll say that him and the front office are doing a great job this summer.  The change in their philosophy towards personnel is the biggest reason why.  We should be much improved defensively, more versatile and not as "matchup-dependent" as the last two years.

Can't ask for more than Aldrich as a back-up center.  Rebounds, blocks shots and hits his FTs.  I think his Per 36s last year were around 12 ppg, 12 rbs and 2.5 blks.

Would LOVE D Arthur.  Wet mid-range jumper and can defend 3-5.

Anyone know if those new black alt uniforms that we've seen pictures of are real? I haven't seen them on the Clips or NBA website since the new logo officially dropped.

Was told during that day when we were all over the city revealing the logo that at present time those black jerseys were not real

:frown: :frown:

Any chance Jordan Hamilton makes the team? I liked what I saw from his last year in limited minutes before the injury and I feel like he has more upside than Wes. He looked good in our last game of the SL.

That sucks. I like those way better than the other new unis. But we'll for sure have an alt, I have to rhink. So why not those?

Doc really likes spending Uncle Steve's money. Good thing the guy has $20 bill. I wonder if owners can claim an NBA tax bill as a write-off for real taxes?
