So we're making moves for the sake of making moves? Nene's contract ends this year anyway. Does that move really improve the team aside from getting younger? No not really.

Yes, yes it does.
1.) favors will play many more games than NENE
2.) favors is much better defensively than nene or gortat
3.) it allows us to dump gortat next summer in the pursuit of KD or just to dump him

I'll admit we might lose a little something offensively with favors and gortat on the floor as opposed to gortat and nene but that combo is looking like it's only gonna get 10 minutes or less a game because nene is so bad defensively at anything other than center were he's just ok. Favors and gortat I know can hang defensively as a 4/5 combo better than nene/gortat. Plus favors is still just 23 (I believe, maybe 24) and has room to improve and is on a very friendly contract and is just a better asset than nene. If we need the space in the summer someone will take gortat for free most likely if not a second rounder or 2 will do it

 I just threw Favor's name out because he seemed like the most logical player to go after on their roster. But I think its a huge stretch to think Utah's interest in Temple will somehow net the Wizard's an opportunity to replace Nene.

Looks like a good turnout for Wall's minicamp in LA:

Pierce's departure undoubtedly created a leadership void in the locker room, so it's great to see Wall stepping it up even further in that area.  Nobody's going to compare a voluntary offseason workout with MJ's now legendary 'breakfast club,' but the truly great players set the standard with their work ethic - and do so in a way that includes rather than alienates their teammates.

Gortat's with the Polish national team, so his absence is understandable, but if Jared Dudley could make it out you still would've liked to see Alan Anderson and Gary Neal attend.  I assume Blair and Nene are out gaining weight somewhere.

Sleeved jersey nonsense has gotta go...got the Wizards looking like safety patrols.

Meth - new thread, or are you going to update the title on this one?

As notoriously cheap as Ted has been, the uniforms were the one thing most fans could agree that he got right.  They managed to strike a great balance between classic and contemporary, invoking nostalgia without outright pandering or resorting to a lazy rehash.

These orange alternates are just tacky.  The league office has become obsessed with soccer uniforms in recent years, but I don't know of any real fans who are sincerely excited about a future of sleeved jerseys littered with sponsor branding.  As bad as these jerseys look now, imagine them on a husky gentleman in dad jeans.  If that's part of Adam Silver's vision, he needs to get his eyes checked.

I know old folks get nostalgic about the 70's era Baltimore Bullets, but we've tried this before.  It doesn't translate.

Let it go.

I'll create a new thread before the season starts.  We've kept each season separate to this point.  It's just easier to navigate that way, and it leaves each one as a time capsule of sorts for each individual season.
