Verizon Center was live. Glad they gave us shirts instead of those weak towels from last year.

Otto is growing up right before our eyes. Knocking down shots in crunchtime and talking **** to Derozan. Pierce has clearly had an influence on this team. I'm still in awe of Wall's assist #s.

Say what you want about Nick but you cant deny that that boy could make buckets.

He's made so many that every team he's been on couldn't wait to get rid of him

Remember, they did the same thing last year.... for game three.  They moved on to the towels from there.  It's still too early to say that they've abandoned their penny pinching.

Keep in mind, too, that the only reason t-shirts were available is because they turned it into a cross promotion and flogged the t-shirt printer during every play stoppage.

I'm glad that Paul Pierce is silencing all his critics.  The Rockets may be playing well this year, but I'd gladly take Pierce at his salary vs. Ariza at his salary.  Pierce's impact will last far beyond this season, as it's likely that he's rubbed off on Otto Porter.

Earlier this year, Otto was like the kid in every sports movie who gets distracted by a butterfly and is oblivious to the fly ball about to land at his feet.  His focus left much to be desired.  And he did have one of those moments last night, when he fell asleep and let DeRozan knock down a barely contested three, but how great was it to see him actually talk trash out there?  When he's actually engaged, and playing *cough* Randy *cough*, you can see glimpses of the player we'd all hoped he would become.

NBA.com ran a nice article on the Wizards' new small lineup, with Pierce playing stretch 4:  http://www.nba.com/2015/news/featur...wizards-go-small-ball-comes-up-big/index.html

For 44 minutes in three games, Wittman has been dragged kicking and screaming into the modern era of basketball.  And it's made the difference.  We hit threes.  We stop running in circles for 20 seconds to generate a contested 17 foot Beal jumpshot.  The defense looks a lot better when the opponent is forced to inbound rather than rebound.

When Pierce says, "We finally tweaked some things we've been saying we want to do all year," you get the sense that he's referring to the players.

Also of note:  Butler and Humphries have logged zero minutes this series.  But don't worry, the Butler doctrine of relying on a veteran journeyman in the twilight of his career to hit threes is still very much in effect... that player is just Drew Gooden.  I give Drew credit, though.  A few terrible passes aside, he's stepped up and adjusted his game in a way I certainly didn't envision following his initial signing last year.
SO ******* happy Nick Young is off this team.
Don't forget Andray Blatche and JaFail McGee.

He would have ever thought he would be legit stretch 4? Like he is the true def of a role player. Dude saw that the team needed that role filled and I'm sure he worked his *** off to become a strech 4(wasn't always hitting 3s like this).

Honestly, if Javale had vets like a Pierce around, he would have straighten up. When he went to Denver, oldest dude there was like Randy Foye.

Idk i am a firm believer now that javale mcgee has got to be the biggest lost cause in the history of the NBA

I remember when we traded him so of us in here questioned what Nene would bring, seeing as javale was a better rim protector and rebounder, kinda glad we cut off that 7 ft tumor

Did not expect a sweep at all. If the Wiz continue hitting their 3s, working the boards, and commiting on the defensive end then I like their chances against the Hawks. I was worried about the sweep going to their heads but I think they're focused.

I was dead wrong about this team. I'll never take stock in the regular season again. Teams really can make dramatic changes when the desire is there

Very impressive performance by the Wizards

This looks like a COMPLETELY different squad. Not sure what got into Randy, but dude elevates his (coaching) game in the playoffs.
