OFFICIAL BET Hip Hop Awards Thread 10-14

Why is it a problem?

Not a problem, but I would consider it a misrepresentation.

Now I'm an old head but I keep my hearing aid to the streets and even underground there aren't that many white rappers bubbling.

It seems like a blatant effort to break the next big white rapper, and I don't think they really need the help.

I didn't see the talent level in this years crop.

Aye Mook killed that ****. :pimp:

But props to everybody in the cyphers. Except that Wiz joint.

Yo, this is just ignant now

YouTube links to the cyphers when possible.

Did they close with Shmoney Shmurda?

Show was okay.

Wasn't spectacular but I don't know what else they could have done to impress me.

Prolly the worst first win at an award show I've ever seen. And top 5 worst speech.

Yea I was just thinking that. It's not hip hop that's trash. What's successful is trash.

Exactly. However, I think I'll take the stuff we're getting now compared to what was droppin in the mid to late 2000's. I was just thinking about how hip hop would be percieved in this decade. And I think it recovered a lot from the era I just mentioned.

I don't know man, there was a good amount of bad music in the late 00's (not just mainstream rap either, but over all), but I'd much rather be listening to the radio songs Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, Boosie, and even Shawty Lo had back then in comparison to Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, those Ear Drummers goofs, and whatever other YouTube sensation pops up. At one time, I thought Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, and OJ the Juiceman were some of the worst rappers I've ever heard. Then Lil B popped up. Then Kreayshawn. Then Chief Keef and his whole GBE/300 crew. And just when I think rap bottomed out, here's Young Thug, RHQ, and Eardrummers. And to think, there's gonna be people coming out worst than THEM sooner or later :x :x

I'm the opposite. The Shawty Lo, D4L, Dem Franchise Boys, Chingy, the MIMS, Hurricane Chris, Plies (he's trash), Gucci (he's trash), and much much more is painful to listen to compared to what's out now. I believe we came a long way
