OFFICIAL BET Hip Hop Awards Thread 10-14

Dawg birdman really think he these ****** daddy. See how he walked out after they performed like his sons jus whipped on another man's sons and bragged. "See what happen when u **** wit my sons pleighboi, whoop on that *** get them hands right next time"

I'm the opposite. The Shawty Lo, D4L, Dem Franchise Boys, Chingy, the MIMS, Hurricane Chris, Plies (he's trash), Gucci (he's trash), and much much more is painful to listen to compared to what's out now. I believe we came a long way

All trash rappers and the current versions are completely trash. The cycle will continue as these artists make one song and fade
away along with their 360 deals.:D Like who is really checking for that Bobby S. guy. At least he was smart and only dropped a 5
song EP.

There is great music out there though, speaking on the commercial aspect only its completely terrible we are seeing
the effect of the No Limit days. These new artist never really developed the skill of actually rapping and need to be put on blast
but the whole system is corrupt.

I don't know man, there was a good amount of bad music in the late 00's (not just mainstream rap either, but over all), but I'd much rather be listening to the radio songs Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, Boosie, and even Shawty Lo had back then in comparison to Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, those Ear Drummers goofs, and whatever other YouTube sensation pops up. At one time, I thought Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, and OJ the Juiceman were some of the worst rappers I've ever heard. Then Lil B popped up. Then Kreayshawn. Then Chief Keef and his whole GBE/300 crew. And just when I think rap bottomed out, here's Young Thug, RHQ, and Eardrummers. And to think, there's gonna be people coming out worst than THEM sooner or later :x :x

There were legitimate classics being dropped in the era you're talking about... (2005-2007) the bubble gum ******** wasn't as bad as the **** today.

Nothing worse than the mid 2000s snap/dance era

& please name a classic from the mid 2000s besides carter 2 & thug motivation 101 & purple haze

From 05-07 how many of those were classics, you just posted albums

Hell Hath No Fury
The B. Coming
College Dropout
Late Registration
Be
Below the Heavens
Food and Liquor
American Gangster
Fishscale

At the very minimum, all solid albums. There was plenty of quality albums and mixtapes being dropped, you chose(or were just subjected) to listen to the bubblegum ****

Calling this generation bubblegum isnt subjective? when theirs plenty of rappers making good music, just because you dont like thug or rhq doesnt make them bubblegum & im not gonna say this generation has any classics because that takes years to determine, i dont just throw that word around

What? I was referring to the snap music you were talking about as "bubblegum"

That was the era that said "hip hop is dead"

So you cant tell me this generation was worse than the mid 2000s

Soundcloud gives me hope for the next batch of artist
