2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

I just hope we get a solid return for noel but we have no leverage

It's not like he's some bum. Our leverage is he's a 22 year old center with DPOY potential and we could trade him to somebody else if Team A or Team B doesn't wanna give us a good deal for him.

I missed him in action last night, but heard good things. I wish he was content with a 6th man role, but it doesn't feel like he is.

This next month is going to be interesting. The Sixers initially said Christmas was the date they would re-evaluate Embiid's minutes restriction, but they've already bumped him to 28. The entire thing could be lifted by the time Simmons comes back WHICH by the way could be sometime next month.

PUMPED going into 2017. Could be staring at 25 wins for the first time in what? 4 years?

Noel has DPOY potential and can anchor a top team defensively. I remember on his rookie year the sixers were statistically a top 10 defense when he was on the floor and bottom feed when he was out.

Noel is hungry to prove his doubters wrong and I love that. He will never be content as a 6th man, especially at his young age.

Oak, on the other hand, seems content with his role behind Embiid. I don't mind him as a sixth man at all.

This is the first year that I don't really care if we land the top pick in the draft. And that's without even seeing Simmons yet, if he proves to be as good as advertised, we should be set and either way, we will be getting a top 5 pick in a PG heavy draft.

I would like to come away with Dennis Smith and that should be able to happen if they get the #1 or #2

Lakers pick is looking lower and lower

Lakers pick looks like it will fall somewhere between 9 and 14.

If we do get #1, I don't think there is any question (at this point in time) that Fultz will be the number one pick. I haven't seen much of Smith, but isn't he a "pure PG" and does not have a reliable 3 point shot? If Simmons will be our primary playmaker, wouldn't you rather have a scoring wing?

the whole embiid/other 2 centers same time isn't working man.....hope this gets resolved

It's pissing me off and it can't be a good look for Colangelo with future free agents. He's basically holding Noel hostage and hurting the team in the meantime and going to make Noel's value even less with trotting him out 8 minutes per night and putting up like 2 points and 4 rebounds per night. He should have been traded before he even returned so this situation wouldn't be taking place. Both Okafor and Noel need to be gone immediately before Simmons comes back or it'll end up hurting him as well. I don't care if they say he'll play "point guard"....he'll be guarding 3's and 4's most of the time. This team was exciting to watch and was playing close with everybody before Okafor and Noel came back...I can't stand watching Okafor play. He has to be one of my least favorite players in the whole league with his awful *** effort on defense

Oak will do just fine in a reduced, Enes Kanter role, they just need to put him on the bench again.

Having him start at Center next to Embiid hurts in two ways:

- He is awful on defense that it opens up the paint fo the opposing team
- You are taking away your best rim protector by having him at the 4 where he is not as effective

Makes no sense to start both or even have them on the floor together. Oak can become a force off the bench if he will accept that role.

Colangelo's move has been safe at best. I was always skeptical of him as a GM and is showing us why. He says he doesn't want to make a bad trade for the franchise but a no trade IS a bad move. He should have gotten rid of Noel a while back. What Hinkie was great at was that he knew when a player's value peaks. He did it with MCW, JK McDaniels, and Holiday.

Colangelo doesn't grasp the analytical part of the game as well as Hinkie. Colangelo is a salesman and is good with relationships but that's about it. He needs to have a strong analytical team to work behind him and support him in areas he lacks.

None of his moves have come to fruition. Henderson is meh...drafting Simmons was a no brainer, Bayless is done for the year, Sergio was a bright spot, Tomothe is nowhere to been seen, trading Grant for Ilyas was a good move, but how forward looking is that really?

i feel the pain, noel would be a defensive beast off the bench but he feels he is a starting C and i'm sure he could start somewhere....same with Oak, he can score with the best of them but his D is acg at best....and he doesn't want to come off the bench either. Bayless and henderson i feel like are here just to fill roster spots, and yes the frenchman is ghost.....back and forth to the DLeague. I think once simmons is back, and we draft a guard this upcoming draft....our team will look a lot better, and of course by that time we should be past this whole 3 big men controversy.

Watching embiid play is awesome though, he will make many a all star games, i hope simmons lives up to his hype as well, we should be a top 3 team in the next 3-5 years!!!!

Do yall think Embiid can make the All Star team? I know imma vote for him to. Need an Embiid All Star Game jersey :pimp:

I can't think of a more deserving center in the east right now. If only the center position was still an option in the voting system.

Embiid VS DMC in the all-star game will be dope.

You guys see Cousins and Embiid the other night? They were having fun with each other during the game and then Boogie was giddy talking about him afterwards . You rarely see him like that. I thought it was pretty cool.

And here's the interview.

What were the thunder thinking trading Ilyasova for Grant. He's the perfect 6th man
Ersan wasnt really a good fit for them, Grant has been amazing for them. He's been shooting 40% from 3 with them. Its a win/win trade for both teams

FIeld goal percentage doesn't really mean anything if he's giving you around 6-7 points and 2 rebounds a game. That's not a win in any way imo

Ever since January started, I just can't wait to see Ben Simmons play. I hate that the Sixers camp are not giving a date. If he's out for the year, at least give us that. This is not how you manage expectations.

I know that he was practicing the other day. But if he's not back by late February-March then he's out for the season
