2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

It's the lottery though so anything can happen. If Brooklyn finishes with the worst record it doesn't necessarily mean they'll get the #1 pick. We just need a little luck (which admittedly is hard to come by for the Sixers ).

the Nets don't even get the first pick the freakin Celtics will for the next two years

Billy freakin King :x
That actually helps the sixers because the Celtics don't need a PG

That's a good point. I can imagine PGs not giving it their all during the workouts. But at the same time, when you have a clear cut choice for #1, you will draft the best talent available regardless of need.

I wonder what the hell the Celtics will do if they get the #1. They already have their backcourt in IT and Bradley, but it's obvious the best players in this draft are guards. Bradley is the perfect player next to IT because Isaiah has his limitations with how small he is on defense but Bradley is one of the best defenders in the league.

I'd STILL draft Fultz or the kid from Zona tbh

It's a tricky situation really. Should they trade for a superstar and contend now? Or should they draft Fultz and hope to sign a star like Hayward ( a little bit of a stretch) where they will be good enough for 2nd seed but not good enough to beat the Cavs.

My opinion is that if they don't land the top pick, they should trade for a bonafide superstar that will help them where they are hurting which is interior defense and rebounding. If they kings do lose their draft pick to the Sixers, they should really consider a rebuild.

Another option is if they can land Noel via sign and trade while also landing Hayward this summer while still keeping the Nets pick for this year, that will make them a very scary team.

this can go so many ways...

Super bummed out the lakers are losing now..really wanted that pick this year..55 points at end of the third Qtr to the Mavs..sheesh..they might challenge Nets for that 1st pick.

losing by one point or fifty points is still considered one loss. Magic lost tonight, PHX will most likely lose and nothing will change. There is still hope.

Yeah it definitely counts as 1 loss but losing an NBA game by 50 to a bad team like the Mavs says a lot..and they are probably playing by far the worst ball out of any team in NBA right now..hopefully they can string together a couple more wins but with that roster seems very unlikely.

The Lakers are such bums

We TRIED to blatantly suck the last few years and we've still had to battle them out each year for top picks while they were actually trying to win games

Yeah man..it sucks..If they really weasel out of giving us that draft pick two years in a row I'm going to be pissed..only silver lining I got is, It was a 12:00 west coast start on the road in Dallas..they did just beat Indy the other night.

I like Holmes a lot. I don't think he's better than Ohkafor but I do like him. Like o don't get Browns lineups at times. Noel is offensively challenged out there and I'd rather have Holmes on the floor on that second unit than Noel. Granted he's not as good at defense but it's not a huge drop off. I understand Ohkafor not playing(even though I don't like it) but Holmes should've been getting some minutes

Anybody else thinking Simmons will make his debut the first game after the All-Star break? It'll be a home game vs the Wizards then the next game will be against the Knicks at MSG. That's kinda a perfect setup for the #1 pick's debut.

Really thinking about getting some tickets to that game cause unless he gets hurt in the All-Star game i wouldn't have to worry about Embiid not playing.

It'll be sooner rather than later. He had his foot check up yesterday and that seemingly went well

I don't know man, they are not releasing ANYTHING as of yet. They will probably announce his debut a few days prior.

If Embiid isn't picked as an ASG reserve tonight I seriously don't think I'll watch the game. I would be heated.

Even though last night's win was great. It was not so great from a lottery perspective.

Kings beat the Cavs in overtime...We need them to tank :smh:
Lakers lost another game and are last place in the West :smh:
Miami won (really needed them to lose to have a worse record than the Lakers)...Waiters man...
Dallas won (also needed them to lose to increase the Lakers falling off the top 3 pick)

chances are getting slimmer that we land a high lotto pick let alone two high lotto picks.

The bottom of the West is so jumbled together that the Lakers and Kings could be right outside of a playoff spot or the worst team in the Western Conference. We'll just have to see as the year goes on, but we need two of the Heat, Magic, Suns and Kings to suck worse than the Lakers the rest of the year. If the Knicks blow their team up and trade Melo then they might be another team that could tank enough to have more losses than the Lakers too.

Feels so weird we are not in the conversation of worst team yet we are still on the run for two high lotto picks.

Feels good.

Ehh I really dont want him playing any unnecessary games so it wouldn't bother me. I don't need embiid trying to show off and landing funny from a dunk

high? The lakers are going into full tank mode. It's possible they land out of the top 3 but idk. The kings aren't gonna be bad enough to be low. They still have cousins

Tried to get tix for tomorrow night's game but they're sold out :smh:. Not sure if I wanna StubHub them.

It was an awesome game and loved what all our youngsters brought to the table. Even TJ.

You can't really do much if Harden goes for 50, 13 and 13.

The future is bright. 8)
