2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

We just got that classic Philly sports luck :smh:

Still have hope that this will work out though. Excited to see what Jah/Noel/Sauce does together

Welp, sure glad Oak fell to us since Embiid is out. As much as I loved Russell coming into the draft, I feel much better about missing on him. As for Embiid, best case scenario at this point is Big Z right?

Embodies floor is MUCH higher than anything Big Z could have been although his career wasn't bad at all. If Joel plays as long as he did, watch out.

I don't think the tank is on this year TBH. This roster is much better off now than it was the end of last season. We actually have NBA caliber talent now rather than Noel an 11 D-Leaguers. Worth's back, Okafor's here. Satsumas gives us something to look forward to and watch. Serviceable guys like Landry and Thompson. Few prospects and young guys to watch develop like Jackson and Grant and Mc what's his name.

30 wins is plausible. It'll be a fun watch for once. Lakers taking Russell is the best thing that could have happened to us.

You really think his floor is higher than Big Z's career at this point? I honestly want that to be the case, but realistically I don't see that. And if I'm the Sixers I limit his minutes so his numbers won't be ridiculously high, but he could potentially be very efficient. Until I see something, I don't see him as the franchise cornerstone I did this time last year.

As far as tanking, I don't think we will be as bad as we were the previous 2 seasons, but it will still be bad. Might as well make this the OAK4ROY season. I just want a pure point on this roster to get the bigs and the wings the ball. BTW I think McRae is the guy you're thinking of

Honestly, with Okafor in shape and playing with Nerlens, RoCo and Stauskas, 30 wins is reachable. All thats needed is a serviceable pg for a year if Wroten is still iffy to start the season

Probably because Covington is at best a rotation player right now and Stauskas could turn out to be a complete bum.

People really overhype players like Covington and Wroten, these two are on the end of the bench of a 45 win team at best

Both definitely overrated, especially Covington.

Give Wroten more credit though. Averaging 17 points in the NBA, albeit he only play in 30 games last year and started half that. Yeah he played on a bad team with no other scoring options and dude shot 40% from the floor, but some of his drives to the rim were flat out outlandish. He's one of the most reckless players in the league, shows from his high turnover percentage. He has a ton of work to do, but he can get the ball in the cup, plays with a lot of energy, and is willing to take shots.

Covington isnt overrated to me. He's by default our best wing and probably our best shooter. The fact that he shot almost 40% from 3 while having his shot contested over 80% of the time is worth something. When the team is ready to contend, he's the first wing off the bench but starter by default for right now

Yes they are. Really starting to believe we'll never see embiid play as a sizer.

Just move on fellas. Distance yourselves from this as much as humanly possible. It's not like we ever really had him.

Embiid..Damn hate it had to him, but yeah it definitely not looking good now. I'm wondering what could he have been doing to break his foot again, especially since from all accounts he wasn't even practicing hard yet. Or is it just that fragile..him being 7" puts to much stress on it.

And the crazy thing about it, that draft pretty much set everything in motion with hinke..I think he seen the names coming out and thought he would nab one of them (mainly wiggins) and it would put the franchise right back..If embiid don't come back it would be the very worst case scenario.

Welp. Still don't make any sense to how he's been walking around the past two weeks on a broken foot without a boot. At this point I'm on the Professor Oak train but Embiid getting hurt last year set us back a lot. I think everyone was banking on Wiggins in last year's draft.
