2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

I was for trading Noel but I am leaning towards keeping him if he is ok being the 2nd unit center

I like Holmes a lot too though

I doubt Noel would want to stick. He's a starting caliber center and he knows it. I would love for him to stay though...it gives us a great backup and gives us the luxury of taking every precaution necessary for Embiid in the next few years.

We are also able to match any offer given to him with the ability to trade him later on.

I think we pretty much HAVE to keep Noel and match any offer he gets just for Embiid insurance alone. Plus he seems like he's loving life being on the team and all the guys on it ever since we started sitting Okafor on the bench a couple months ago.

I don't see why he would want to leave if he's the primary backup to Embiid. A solid 25-30 minutes a night on a team with winning potential like the Sixers. Why would you want to go anywhere else? Because odds are, if he wants a starter role with a big payday, he'll end up on some mid-level team and be stuck in 8th seed purgatory or something of the sort.

Let JoJo do the heavy lifting and come in to provide some defensive stops and get fed by Simmons. What else could you want?

I agree, Noel is a starting center on a team like Bulls or something

they don't have a shot year after year but they can make the playoffs

Simmons might not play this year. |I If this is true, it's a HUGE blow because the outcome of his play should heavily affect how we draft in the upcoming lottery. This really sucks.

I am going to be so mad if they sit Simmons the entire year

At this point what is the reason to play him? For experience? There's a month and a half left. Knowing the Sixers, he'll be on a minutes restriction and won't play back-to-backs. How much experience will he actually get?

Not saying I agree with him sitting the entire season. But if he's already sat this long I see no benefit to playing him now. In pro sports (and with Jones Fractures especially) it always seems like players return when they're "healthy enough" rather than "healed". **** it. Give him the extra time to completely heal 100% :\.

I think you need to have him get adjusted and more importantly the team get adjusted

they will look completely different with Simmons running things out there, I would rather work this out a little bit with throwaway games this year so we know what is coming next October

you play him and Embiid to see what you have..especially when you consider what's there in this year draft..We still don't know how Simmons will look at PG..At some point if you want to move forward you have to get your best players on the court together.

Im with Nick on the Simmons issue. If hes not playing by March then just sit him til next season. I also dont see Simmons as a full time point so the need for a PG, SG & SF still remain in the end

But what if he can be a full time PG? It will always be a matter of opinion until he hits the floor. It may be the difference between choosing Isaac and Dennis Smith.

It may also be the difference between choosing the best talent vs best fit in the draft. That being said, it's even more critical now that the Lakers fall to #4.

If Simmons healthy..he should play..having him and Embiid sit out for the rest of the season..only leaves more uncertainty going into the draft and next season..especially with Simmons position already in question.

We NEED Simmons to play this year to figure out what type of player he is before the draft and this next offseason. Philly could be an attractive destination for free agents with Embiid and Simmons and the Sixers have a billion dollars in cap space if they wanted to sign some people. There's too many point guards at the top of this draft for us to not know whether we have our point guard on roster yet.

I swear I'm gonna be really pissed if they end up holding Embiid out of the Wizards game next Friday that I got tickets to. I was banking on both him and Simmons playing in that one.

Now the media says that Simmons will play. First it's them changing their opinions every week and then the situation with Jah...either the reporters in Philly are not very good at their job or Colangelo is a pathological liar.

welp now there are reports Simmons foot revealed it isn't fully healed on 1/23 and he is visiting the doctor on Monday to determine if it is now

Simmons has been busting his *** on the court training until like 2AM at the Sixers practice facility some nights from what I've seen from his snap and IG stories. I believe nothing when it comes to his and Embiid's health. I think they're both 100% healthy and should be playing in games right now as we speak.

Maybe both but Colangelo is def lying out here bout ish

Yeah. Dude was blatantly lying during his Toronto days. I miss Hinkie.
