2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

Prior to the game, Simmons talked about dealing with players who see him as a measuring stick and try their best to out-perform him.

I asked Simmons what does he do to guard against trying to do too much against players who may be looking to make a name for themselves against him.

“Win” was Simmons’ initial response to my question.

A reported asked him his thoughts about Kevin Durant agreeing to play for the Golden State Warriors after spending the past nine seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“I play for Philly, so,” Simmons said with a smile. “I play for Philly.”

I love this kid already.

Killer mentality in this one. I can feel it.

Agreed. I remember people were calling him cocky and feeling himself too much, but from all the interviews I've seen, I see a chill dude who is hungry and wants to be great.

Like what I seen from Simmons last night..I knew the Basketball IQ and Vision was there..But I love how he was orchestrating the team on both the offensive and defensive end..Telling guys where to go..setting up the plays..him and Embiid could be special..

And is it me or could Holmes replace Noel on this team if we was to trade him...I know he had a few good games last season..but I was a impressed by him last night..Ill have to keep an eye on him going forward..

Holmes could absolutely replace Noel for us. Our center rotation should be Embiid, Holmes and a vet. We already have Simmons, Saric and Grant to split minutes at PF. You sure as hell don't need more than 6 big men in a rotation in today's NBA.

Eh, on this kinda team you need a veteran presence so from that aspect Henderson is fine. But he's not gonna help the team from a playing standpoint

Well...seeing that we are not looking to win today, adding positive veteran presence is needed after suffering a losing culture the last three years. How Henderson will help when he is on the floor? He's a good hard-nosed defender who can also attack the rim.

Solid signing at an even better price.

Now on to Crabbe...

So were not going to be a contender but all of the signings so far have added some veteran leadership and decent players at low salaries on short deals.

We will still have a top pick next year (kings should be terrible) and still have plenty of money. This team WILL be in the playoffs in this weak east in 2 years

I'm happy overall with the signings, I really don't want anything to do with Seth Curry

I still would overpay Crabbe but that's just me

Point guard class looks promising next year too :nerd:.

Dennis Smith
Markell Fultz
Malik Monk
Lonzo Ball

Should be intersting.

One of these guys will definitely be a Sixer :pimp:

I think the Kings could seriously suck enough to get us the #1 pick again. They're gonna be terrible and forced to trade Cousins at the deadline.

Whos the best player & best shooter outta these guys?

And i agree with Stillin, id overpay Crabbe too

To me, Dennis Smith has the most talent, tools and potential.

Fultz is the best shooter. A late bloomer.

Monk the best athlete and scorer.

Ball the smartest and longest.

If we can get one of those guys and Tatum with the Kings pick......sweet jesus

That man looks like a pure SF to me now. He could start at the 3 next to Simmons no problem. His game has evolved a lot over the past couple years.

Yup..And know it's a little different game but I heard he was guarding Antetokounmpo for most of the game too..held him to 9 points..4 assist..6 turnovers and a +/- of -6..

Mad I couldn't find any video of saric on the ball guarding Antetokounmpo tho.

Theyre saying Saric might stay over there another yr after all tho :/

Unfortunately, it makes financial sense for him to do that. His parents are counting every penny he earns and they are making sure he gets the best deal. It sucks as a Sixers fan, but I respect the decision.

Reading that article makes it clear to me that we need to keep Noel. Replacing his defence will be a lot hard that replacing Oak's offence.

Especially with a lineup of Saric, Covington, Bayless and Simmons, someone's going to have to play D.

Also, what I found interesting were the players Noel was compared to VS Jah.

Noel was compared to Hakeem, David Robinson and Ben Wallace, all known to be winners and won at least 1 championship anchoring the defence.
Jah was compared to Monroe, Favors, Cousins etc...none of which even made the playoffs this year.
