The Official Adidas D Lillard 1

I just need these Rip Citys to come back out. My buddy let me try out his pair and I love the shoes, I was playing in a half size too big and the lockdown was still fantastic.

played in my CNY DL 2s again today. the court was ridiculously dusty (shout 24hr fitness) and didn't have any major issues with traction. i had to wipe of course, but in between wipes, the shoes performed. Adidas has a winner here in my opinion. the shoe is actually fun to play in... youre locked in, cushion setup is close to perfect and overall comfort is great. I need to get my hand on the rip city pair and away.

thanks for the feedback. mine were great for the first 2 weeks then the traction went. maybe i just got a bad pair.

can you check back in after a couple weeks playing in them and give us an update if they're still  holding up? much appreciated...

hyunsoochol3: the Rip City is on the UK site... should only be a matter of time in the US

yea, no problem. looking back on it, i had issues with the traction of the lillard 1 and i beat those up pretty bad. the traction was the least of the issues with that shoe.

Interesting.  Maybe not.  The ridges on the outsole are flat to begin with and there are too many of them.  The rubber, at least on the Aways, is pretty soft as well.  I can't see them getting any better with time and more wears.

Since Adidas is also switching outsole/midsole combinations on the All Stars etc., they might also have slightly different kind of outsole rubbers on different colorways? A subtle translucent gum on the Rip Citys, solid on the aways, translucent on the CNYs. That could be one issue that explains some of the traction inconsistensies.

Can you still make translucent soles with the continental rubber material? I feel like there has to be some sort of concession made when using those materials to make a translucent/gum outsole.

I'm on the same boat, I was heartbroken when they got delayed, I was at the mall morning of not knowing until I got there. I tried the away's on and they felt so damn comfortable and perfectly snug (1/2 down). Was on the market for a basketball shoes after my Kobe 6's are worn down. Impulse bought a pair of used 8's in good condition after the delay and totally regret it now having tried both on despite not even playing in the Lillard's yet. This is going to be my first Adidas bball shoe I'll ever buy.

Also just wanna join the conversation, is the general consensus right now that the aways outsoles provide better traction? It seems rather split and honestly, I may just decide to cop the aways and get the homes another time.

I've always been iffy about translucent and gum outsoles for performance.  I know sometimes it doesn't make any difference, but I feel like I've had my best experiences with regular solid rubber outsoles.

Anyone from Toronto have any idea if or where the TRIPLE WHITE glow in the dark joints they will be dropping locally? And will it show up on adidas.ca site at least?

Need help guys. Planning on copping the triple whites. Never had any adidas hoop shoes. In kobe x i am a size 11 same with lebron 12 lows and jordan xx9. Which size should i go with? I have narrow feet.

Best bet is trying them on at a store but everyone I know who wears them to play in said that they went .5 sz down and were happy they did.

@DeezyVSOP2  After having the worst traction experience of my life with the Nike Kyrie 1 All-Star colorway, I agree 110% percent and will never buy a translucent outsole having shoe to play in.

My best advice for these shoes or most adidas basketball sneakers is to go by the UK Size. So find a shoe that fits you, check the UK size and match the UK size with the Lilard 2 or other adidas. But make sure you check becuase adidas US to UK conversion or different on each shoe.

Or go half a size down from a pair of Nike that fits you. For example..My Jordans, KD7, Air Trainers/Cruz are size 8.5 where my adidas sneakers like the Crazy 8, EQT 93 Guidance, ZX8000 Boost, Streetball 1.5 are 8.0.

Unfortunately I ordered 7.5 of the Lillard 2 and my feet fits in there but way to tight so a size 8.0 would have been perfect but sold out by that time. So I will be miadidas my own "Home" or do a EQT 93 Royal Blue version.

Does anyone know if they will re-release the "Home" colorway again since it is a general release and sold out everywhere? I am not sure how general release works but the "Home" sold out on adidas.com/ca within 2-3 days.

I tried the year of the monkey cw, better fit for me going half size down. But when i tried the road cw it feels really snug for me going tts. But in my opinion the yotm is more comfortable than the woven/textile upper road/home cw.

really? I had the complete opposite and it was one of the best shoes I used last year in terms of traction

The All Star colorway? The rubber and pattern ate dust like crazy and wiping did nothing to help. But I only play on dusty courts though.

So are the rip city's releasing again tomorrow or just the triple whites?
Pretty sure it is just the triple whites

I posted a a page back that I saw a new date on the calendar for the Lillard 2 in white/black -- thought that might be the re-re-release of the rip city (date is February 27th)

The rip city's are out of stock everywhere to need a restock?
They were pulled from the Jan. 22nd official launch because of a defect or problem with that particular colorway (yes, I know there was another small launch in late 2015) -- the official word was that mid-to-late Feb. they would re-release the colorway.  I don't think we've received an official date.  I just wanted to point out that a "black/white" pair is listed for Feb. 27 on the Eastbay calendar, which could line up with when they have the drop re-scheduled
