The Official Adidas D Lillard 1

They aren't even trying any more. The McDonald's and now these :smh:

For all intents and purposes, the adidas D Lillard 1 is among the most customizable signature sneakers around today. The mark of a popular style, its transcendent appeal is one that has seen many colorways and PE variations for Lillard on the floor. But now the model is making its way to Ann Arbor for a Michigan centric color variation. Releasing this coming Saturday at The Victors Collection – an official Wolverines retailer located across the street from campus – the adidas D Lillard 1 Michigan PE features traditional maize and blue school colors over the budding adidas Hoops silhouette. With “Go Blue” at the tongue and a logo lace jewel at the shoes center, this limited edition release is exclusive to The Victors Collection (307 South State Street Ann Arbor, MI) Saturday, April 18, at 9am local time.

its kind of sad to me that this is what adidas is doing with these. i obviously don't know the numbers, but from what I've seen, the Lillard has got to the shining star of their lineup this year, possibly across the board. i know production takes a little while and whatnot, and the size of a debut signature line's success can be tough to forecast, but every color has sold out online and i don't think there's a ton sitting in stores. demand has been quiet yet steady for these things and unless adidas has something in the pipeline for later, i really feel like they're not capitalizing on the success of what really looks to have become their flagship outside of maybe the tubular or a boost.

this michigan colorway has no real ties to him or any storyline pertaining to him, and the mcdonalds was actually just a sad coincidence that they decided to go purple with the entire pack and had already had a purple colorway. they could have at least reversed the colorblocking instead of releasing it again, but they didn't and it still sold. even the JWalls have had more colorways release and I've never even seen a person irl wearing a pair. in fact, now that i think about it, which Lillard has come out that can't really be generally made on miadidas outside of the BHM?

i just hope they've got good stuff planned, because I actually really like this line. it has potential, as evidenced by the Gauntlet pair. end rant.

^Definitely not a Michigan alum, but I kinda see what they're doing here, but it would've made more sense had the Wolverines actually worn them. I would take those over the McDonald's though, just because that is the laziest thought process into a "new" colorway I've ever seen. I do hope his line continues to do well, because it harkens to the old days where these are popular but not to the point where anyone has to camp for em. These also got my middle son out of the sheep mentality of most middle schoolers and begged for a pair. He loves em, but had the common problem everyone else did playing in them, that heel slippage lol.

I don't really have a problem with that Michigan colorway, but the Victors Collection can keep em. I won't lose any sleep over it. It's almost borderline X-men cartoon Wolverine-ish, but not quite. That would have been sick.

I like playing in my pair for sure, but they aren't really worthy of stocking up on in terms of performance, at least to me. The colorways have to be special and I haven't seen anything like some of the Curry 1 colorways. I don't think the Gauntlets are that great either.

Let's see what they cook up for the playoffs. Coming from a Blazers fan, I don't like their chances and they are way too inconsistent. Losing WM and all of the other injuries don't help either.

I'm just sad I didn't do a miadidas pair when they had the 20% off. Dame, if you love the fans, bring that back!

EDIT: I know I have a Miami logo, and I am a Heat fan, but with Wade's career on the tail end, my second favorite player has quickly become Lillard because of his attitude on the court and clutch play. Curry settles in as a nice 3rd. For those of you who see me in the Curry and this thread haha.

Heat and Wade fan too. I find myself watching Kyrie and Westbrook a lot now since Rose isn't doing much. Curry and Kyrie are like two of the few non-super-athletes that are fun to watch.

To stay on topic, the recent grey pair was the first colorway that I have zero interest in. Need more of these so I don't go broke

The 4 players we are watching are all PGs. Shows the way the league is trending.

But yeah, the colorways have slowed down like crazy, I don't get it. Maybe Adidas wasn't ready for the level of interest for this shoe. I feel like all shoe companies do this, they hype up the first signature shoe, then they drop a bunch of colorways in the first few months and then nothing...

I liked most of the colorways. Own asg, bhm, march madness, rose city. Fav is prolly the asg. I don't think any colorway was straight up bad until the recent grey pair.

I'd def agree for Nike tho. Like the KD's after the first batch of colorways besides AP and Florals imo. The lebrons too. After the nsrl, hol, and data, I only copped the wheats and palmers just cuz I may never find those again for retail. Kobe X seems like they're saving the best for last

i agree maybe there gonna drop more colors for summer coz the lillards are a perfect summer shoe..i still need to go and find asg's i like those alot and i really like the gauntlets hopefully they drop eventually

I was on adidas.com looking for pure boosts and ran into one last size 9.5 in the rose city Lillards.  I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger.  I'm normally a 9-9.5 in Jordan and Nike and 9.5 in adidas so hopefully these fit despite seeing heel slip issues on this forum.  If not I can always return for free.  Came out to $94 shipped so under retail.  These were def my favorite cw of the lillard line.

It really depends on your foot shape whether or not you will have heel slip. I have a high arch and the lockdown doesn't do enough for me so I've getting a bit of slip unless I tie my laces tight. If anything, I think you'll find the forefoot to be a bit roomy compared to a lot of nike stuff, but that techfit is just kind of stretchy.

Scooped up the "Rose City" colorway this past weekend at my local HOH...surprised they still had my size cause everywhere else is sold out..

So I received my Lillard's from adidas.com and the insole in one pair was all messed up.  It seemed that the insoles were too big and did not fit properly into the shoe.  The edges of the insole at certain spots would not sit against the sole and would create a glue squeak with each step.  To me it seems like they used an insole that was half size too big and just stuffed it in.  I'm thinking of returning to adidas as I don't want to deal with that and with the rose city's the unique insole is more than a throw away part of the shoe.  Anyone else have this issue?

I would email them and see if they can find another pair for you, like you said, the 4bars are a huge part of the shoe's appeal for me, it's the storytelling and if you're into that I would be upset.

Just got the shipped email for these. Can't wait!
That Oakland Rebels colorway

. Very nice...

Cool, I should be getting that shipped email next week then.

That blue is nice, wish the midsole and outsole had more colors available.

I agree this shoe has so much potential but the lack of midsole/outsole/logo color options really limit what you can do.

wore these all day today and wow. Comfy, cushion feels great. Not clunky. Toe box room feels great
