What would you have done in this situation?

Y'all really trying to catch a case over a petty sentence?

This. OP is now on camera committing an assault on a 50 year old.

i dont believe you put youre hands on grandpa. if do youre too sensitive. the dude is a minute away from passing away and doing a young mans job, you couldnt say something smart back?

Not to be disrespectful but you gotta utilize this situation to mature as a man. I used to sweat petty stuff like that all the time but then I realized as a man, I didnt have to prove myself to anyone, especially those who were in a position in society that could only negatively harm me. There are billions of the people on this planet. Some of them will not like you; sometimes for no reason at all. You only give them a voice when you acknowledge them. No voice and no impact. Learn to only give those who matter a platform. But its good that you feel guilty about it. It means you realize how worthless of a reaction it was.

"Come back when you can afford the juice"

"I will, but I am sorry that I am not as perfect and successful as you obviously are . . . "

Sarcasm works as well as a nicely placed hook to the jaw.

OP...you were justified in the situation.  Collar grab might have been too much but what's done is done.

if it was me tho, I wouldda just took the juice

75% of the time I go to subway I just order a sandwich and then grab a soda and chips on my way out anyways so...

The collar grab was a little much, but I would've reacted the same way except for that.

I can't stand passive-aggressive people, especially when they try and get all defensive after they let some petty comments fly.

For future reference, Grim, chill with putting your hands on old people. Had son had a heart attack or something, you could be liable for it even though you didn't really do anything.

I think sometimes someone just says some **** to you that just hits a nerve. There's really no explaining it besides that. Especially if it catches you off guard or if they were in the wrong but they came at you sideways.

I don't know. I let a lot of stuff go unless someone decides to touch me. In that case, I definitely would have gotten loud with the guy but I think the whole grabbing thing was a bit much. He is over 50 years old and he makes sandwiches for 7.65 an hour, I'd be pissed at everybody too.

Dude prolly overcharging on purpose cus his job don't pay. If you don't catch it, that's his profit from the register. Ol thievin *** *****.

I'd woulda snap back on dude also. Prolly wouldn't have put my hand on his ol mayo smellin ***. Woulda checked him tho.

If I kept thinking bout it, I would go back would like 10 goons and just order some food and in. Watch him shake addin the lettuce.
ANd I would keep changing my mind as he adding topping and take mad long deciding. And make sure my boys on rowdy mode
and make it the worst 20 mins of dude 'career.'

or ( im mad spiteful)

I'de go back to the store and tell his manager that he said a had a 'fat juicy ***, as you were leavin ( and to keep in mind your 16yrs old).
And have him look at the tape, so he can see he said something as you left and that it caused you to flip and grab him. Tell him you in
therapy now. Homie will get the can and you'll get a free meal pack.

Yes, you were in the wrong to let the words of someone else put you in that place. Everyone has made the same mistake, so I wouldn't sweat it. It is tough to let small things ride, especially if there have been a lot of small things coming up. If you choose to go back there and he's working register, short him two bucks and grab your sandwich. Tell him it's just two bucks since he feels that way.

I can understand the audacity of a 50 yr old dude that's an employee trying to play you in a Subway making you snap but you can do exactly what you did and not be angry. Some ppl need to be checked.

He's obviously going through a senile moment when he made the mistake and probably felt frustrated or maybe he got caught trying to hustle you out some paper and got mad he got caught.

Some ppl think they can get a way with disrespect like that cuz they do it constantly. That doesn't fly.

You probably should've told him 'I feel sorry for your mother'

Stop and think about it. You let a senior citizen sandwich maker get you out of character.

But yea somethings just make you snap at certain times. I understand. We all have our moments

Damn, you and your 'goons' are hard as hell. "AEY HOMIE, PUT SOME LETTUCE ON THAT. WAIT NAW, JUST KIDDING SUCKA."

There's something wrong with the fact that you have 10 homies that would get your plan in a text message and would be down for it. "aey bruh, we about to go to Subway and order a sandwich but keep changing our mind while he's making it. Bring the crew. pz"

Man I'll never go back to that subway because of this. It's not like I especially like subway but around my way the only option is McDonalds, Burger King, and Subway.

Just got back from my test and I was thinking about this situation since last night. I just don't understand that mindset of coming at someone sideways when it was their mistake.

At what point do you have to just take a stand no matter what it is?

I know this is all about ego and the lengths it takes you to protect itself, but damn man I can't say that it didn't atleast feel good to do that even though I let go like 2 seconds later.

At this point in my life I do feel there is a place for people needing to get checked when they are clearly disrespecting you. How I went about it could of course been handled better but you gotta take a stand for yourself in some way. I mean if we're talking about how a man should handle this I realized there is a spectrum for how to deal with things like this:

5 - Kill them (TroyD)
4 - Put hands on them (Me)
3 - Talk back to them, use sarcasm or wit
2 - Shrug it off, mean mug
1 - Let it go and move on
