A Look Back At The Different Reactions To The O.J. Simpson Verdict In 1995!.

Nah, ppl were definitely cheering for O.J. and really there's nothing wrong for that.

There was definitely support for Johnny but support for O.J. was not nonexistent.

So do two wrongs make a right?

Still remember watching the white bronco chase on TV with my family that was a night of television

it's like the whole Trayvon thing, people didn't really care about the facts.

Funny people want to talk about how black people get the short end of the stick when it comes to the law, OJ is proof that there is also a class factor here.
.

Both worthy points. Would expect them to be at the forefront of the discussion.

The former describes the hallmark of ignorance, the latter the privilege of being rich and famous.

Not sure if the sentiments in the video are reflected here (although it seems so), but ignoring the evidence simply because a white person was violently killed and the suspect was a celebrated black athletic is more than a little disturbing. Understand these folks were frustrated but was this a good way to express relief?

I honestly don't know if OJ was guilty or not, there wasn't enough evidence to put him away. Funny people want to talk about how black people get the short end of the stick when it comes to the law, OJ is proof that there is also a class factor here. A poor black man would've gotten the chair.

Imagine if OJ was found guilty and got double life....

I was in 7th grade and I remember everyone holding their breath that whole week.

Those reactions are very accurate. I was a freshman in high school. I remember black kids running down hall screaming an shouting, like our school just the state championship. I remember white teachers being really salty that day. My school was about 35% black and 65% white.  I remember the watching the trail everyday in the summer. This trial brought reality TV to forefront. It changed everything.  This case so racially charged it was ridiculous.

I thought the glove didn't fit because he was a diabetic.. And the defense purposely withheld how medicine so his hands would swell

I think it was arthritis, but the same concept applies. And I think the gloves were frozen and unfrozen since they were in evidence and they were soaked in blood... then OJ was wearing gloves underneath it too when he tried them on during trial.

The exact same thing can be said for the other side
Yea definently. Im not tryna come at blacks or anything because I believe justice should be equal.

And like the dude said, your class and how much $$$$ you got plays a big factor.

And to the other dude who says whites are just getting what theyve been doing to blacks forever, I see what you're saying but

that doesnt justify letting go a man who murdered two people by stabbing them to death and vice versa with whites getting away with murder/crime.

im not white or black so again I might not be able to see other perspectives. Im just a firm believer in equality under the law which

obviously we dont have in this country.

But they're back next year...

Blame Mark Fuhrman :smh: ..... This dirty *** cop screwed the whole trial up
I was happy to see the dirty cop loose

Too young to recall the social impact of the OJ trial, never knew about the White vs Black, "payback for Rodney King", etc.

Did race have anything to do with the actual trial? Was the polarization just blind racial allegiance or did it have to do with the actual trial?
When hasn't every major issue in this country just been blind racial allegiance though? Sure there are always a small group who look past color, but on the larger scale blind racial allegiance is the norm.

I'm not.

Can you please inform me?
O.J.s defense team asked the officer if he had ever referred to a black person as ******. He answered never. They already had evidence that he had (he didn't know the evidence existed) Thus making the lead investigator on a murder case guilty of perjury. That alone would have been enough to get OJ off, it was over from there.

Yup, retribution for the Rodney King verdict.

U know that the negroid in this society cannot kill the precious pure white woman who God himself molded from the clouds of heaven and be found not guilty. *Uncle Rucks voice*

Yea, real leather draws up when it's wet

Then dude came out w/ the book

I followed that trial in its entirety. I think OJ was on the cover of the USA Today for a year straight. I have to admit, contrary to popular opinion, if I was on the jury, I would have had to vote to acquit. There was a very fundamental question that I kept coming back to. If OJ did kill Nicole and Ron in the manner described by the prosecution, where were his bloody clothes. Look at that crime scene. If one man killed those people in the manner they were killed, he would have been drenched in blood. Not a spot here or there. He would have been drenched. Take it from a man who has stuck a carotid or two  If you don't believe that, then you're telling me you think OJ Simpson is a ninja or a Jedi. I couldn't convict with that gaping hole in the story.

When will people realize that NOBODY was cheering for OJ, as previously stated that man was the def of an uncle tom....We were cheering for Johnny, dude inspired me to become a lawyer one day. It was JOHNNY who made the case about race and flipped the prosecution on their ***. Dude made the white prosecutor look like a rookie, they were in different leagues. All those white people in the video yapping about the case was about race. JOHNNY made it about race because lets be honest, that's what the American justice system IS about.

Brotha looked better in Brioni than Gotti.

You serious right now?
