Had a group panel interview on Wednesday at a Nike Outlet location in Socal w/2 hiring Managers, and 2 other candidates. At the conclusion of the interview, the 2 hiring managers stated that we would receive an e-mail in about 2 days on whether or not they would offer a background screening (pre employment), or an e-mail that states they decided to go on with another candidate. My question is, does itnormally take longer than 2 days to receive an email? They also did mention that the person who usually handles the emails is on PTO and some other HR rep has been delegated to their duties. Help!!!

Don't know how outlets work but when I got hired at Niketown NY, They first called me to say if I was still intrested, aftet that they ask you a couple of questions over the phone, basically a phone interview, after that they called all my references, and ask about me and what kind of person I am.

A week later, they called again and ask if i was still interested, I told them yes, and went in to learn about Nike and thats it. Pretty good process IMO,

Got hired on the best floor, 5th floor, got to wear whatever kicks you want and clothes, other floors you have to wear the running gear they provide for you and give you whatever air max thats currently releasing.

This was in 2010,,,,still standing strong, but part time now since i graduated and got a better opportunity, but no way in hell I'ma leave Nike and that 40% discount lmao.

^

My homie is 5th floor at NTNY too. He actually got the summer intern job as well.

Anyways if you didnt get a call back by now, id say you didnt get it. They may call you back at a future date if they liked you enough though.

yeah if you dont get a call back you didn't get the job, and nowadays they send you an email saying you might qualify for the postion but there are other candidates thats are better.

What's your friends name btw?

Appreciate your responses. My process went like this, e-mail to call their HR for 10 min phone interview, schedule group panel interview which was ghe very next day. However, they did say at the conclusion of the group panel interview was that we'd receive an e-mail either way. So i'm still waiting on that. Also mentioned that training is scheduled for both Monday October 27th & 28th. Still holding out on hope!!

Process might have changed but the email is the way of saying you wasn't hired. So that didn't change. The email would read " Your are good for the job but there are better candidates with better qualifications.

But you said your schedule for training and stuff, I didn't get all that until the whole process was over and confirming that in fact I was hired. So them scheduling all that could be a very great chance your hired, plus you said outlet, I doubt they would go that hard, Niketown and mercer are the ones that go the extra mile in hiring.

I really hope so. I received a rejection email the first go around after my phone interview for a PT Athlete at NTLA and i also mentioned this when the hiring managers brought up the rejection email cause i got a laugh out of it haha. This job would be very beneficial to me with the Holiday season right around the corner. I'll keep the thread posted once i hear back officially. HA!

Citadel? :nerd:

When i worked for Nike after i applied got the group interview. Few days Later got the call from manager saying i got the job and i just had to pass background check. 2 weeks later was in Rookie camp. Learning the history of the company. Told Manager would i get my swoosh account that same day she asked how i knew about that lol 8) 8)

Gearing up for the holiday season so things are pretty hectic right now at Factory stores.

I wouldn't say you should totally give up hope buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I do know that the time frame they give you is pretty accurate.

Have you tired calling the store?? Just tell them you had some concerns because you were told ___ date but haven't received anything.

Yes sir! Think they might've switched up the process as me and the other candidates were notified of receiving an email whether or not we get a drug screening or a rejection email lol

One of the HM did mention that they're usually pretty quick with the response time, but the person who usually takes care of the process is on PTO. When i had my first phone interview w/NTLA i received the "thanks, but no thanks e-mail" the following day. I'll give it until the middle of next week before i call the store directly. I really appreciate all the feedback on this thread!

Call tomorrow, don't wait til mid next week

Things move fast at Factory stores..... receive thousands of applications. If you're not responding there are all those other thousands that are gonna jump on the opportunity.

Did you make sure to check your spam mail???

Go back and double check all your emails. It doesn't come form Nike if I'm not mistaken, should come from a company called HireRight.

You're right. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Should i also send an email to the HR rep who confirmed my group panel interview. Oh yes, i've been checking my e-mail in & junk box non stop since haha

I don't think you should call the HR rep as it is a third part company.

I would just start with the store and see what they tell you..... I believe that after the interview it's handled on a store level. You just have to submit your background check it goes from there.

I noticed that you said drug test in a precious comment but Nike does not drug test... Just FYI.

Good Luck man that place is always hiring though. New manager is Wack so they say lol. Hit me up if you have any questions bout that store.

applying at a nike factory store myself this week. any tips? good to wear nike gear to the interview, or perhaps more business casual..polo/dress pants and dress shoes?

Lol thanks man. Will do! Both HM's on the interview did encourage to keep applying in the start of the interview. Hope i hear something soon. Thought i nailed that interview a lot better than the other two candidates, then again it is now out of my hands. Prayers!!

Matter of opinion on dress but I personally wouldn't get dressed up and I would definitely show that brand passion off the jump.

My personal opinion but I never understood why people come in dressed like they're applying for a law firm.

Nike Polo
Bottoms of your choice
and Nike footwear obviously.
