I've never been on the Atlantic side (Long Island, NY;Portland, Maine; Rhode Island)

But i have been to the coastlines on the Pacific Northwest. Along Highway 101.
Long Beach, WA; Astoria, Seaside, Newport, OR...

The scenery is stunning. Go during the spring or summer time.

I can see why lots of rich folks from around the country have their vacation homes in the area.

Anybody here have the privilege of visiting both sides. Anything stands out in particular?

Personally, crossing the Astoria Megler bridge during sunset. It's the bridge that connects between Washington state and Oregon

Never been to the PNW, even though I'm from Cali.

I have been to Maine, but don't remember much other than the lobster was :pimp: :pimp:

forget the pch and new england coast line, when you drive over the ocean to the florida keys

West Coast-Scenery.

East Coast-Clusters of Big Cities.

Pretty much this.

Grew up on Long Island and went from cape cod down to beaches in DE and although the beach towns are fun, the scenery of the pac coast trumps the atlantic by far. The blue water, the surf, the cliffs and mountains, etc are all awe inspiring, nothing to really even compare it to on the east coast.

Also beaches on the east coast are not as accessible to major cities (like they are to LA for instance). If you're in DC you'll need to drive 3hrs to reach a decent beach, NY you have to go out east on the island or jersey shore which, with traffic, can take just as much time. In LA I feel like you can just stroll up to Manhattan beach or Santa Monica no problems

I've been to the Atlantic coast but ill always prefer the PNW since its home. When it snows at the Oregon Coast, its awesome. Hope you enjoyed your time there.

The Pacific Northwest is on the ring of fire, so eventually we won't exist, I guess that makes us more rare.

Of course New Yorker to the core.

Only been to seatte in the PNW, wanted to go to Vancouver but not enough time.

Been to southern cali but that ain't what we talking about.

Been to Boston and I love Boston and Seattle, but if I had to choose Seattle hands down crazy beautiful and the Ethiopian chicks yeah

I'm from NY state, Catskills area and my wife is from Oregon, Salem area. Both of these places have a similar feel. I've been up and down the Atlantic buy yet to the PNW coast. Looking forward to it.
