Police Officers of NT, PLEASE HELP US UNDERSTAND!! NYPD preferred

Does the badge change people?  Hell yeah it does.

But I'd say more often than not, it just magnifies who these people have always been inside.  The perceived power of that badge, the gun and the cop brotherhood behind them gives them the balls to act like that.  Dudes like this would be silent peons without that badge.  Trust.

/explanation.

this is the conclusion i reached myself. no other reasoning for the rash actions of police all over the country. too many videos pop up and show outlandish violent and or abusive power/behavior from police and i sit there like...but why?

:smh: the worst part about it was that the cop read the law, got caught in his own bs and still said F it, ima ruin dude's day.

This was on NPR yesterday, charges will be dropped.

....but it was also pointed out how police can retroactively find justification for your arrest...so they arrest you, don't really have a charge, or law u broke, but then go digging after the fact, in books to find a law that they claim u broke.

i could never defend cops, but some of yall dont know what they deal with... especially when u have to police a population that is either uneducated, or they don't give a damn about nothing.... i

hold on famb.

I disagree on this.

I think cops keep a lot of people FROM doing bad things

I agree with both of these. The media portrays the worst side in everything. I work with law enforcement and it is very difficult to have to deal with everything because when police are called it's usually for something bad am I right? But I do agree that some officers out there should not be trusted with a gun and badge. Applicants have to go through an extensive background and psychological evaluation among other things too before being offered the job but I guess some slip through the cracks..

yes they should have to be put in pressure situations to determine how they would react and such.

Popo is a slight deterrent to criminals... everyday someone gets shot stabbed robbed and raped in the city... cops rarely stop any of these from occuring but if they werent around at all those numbers will go up dramatically...

Been to Chicago, Vermont and Seattle the last couple of months, I think I saw 3 cops in Chicago (didn't go into the south side) none in Vermont and 1 patrol car in Seattle, I can walk down the block ANYWHERE and guarantee some sort of police activity....it just feels like there is just too many cops in NYPD on pay roll and really not enough crime to compensate so the way I see it they create crime where there is none like in this video in order to document and justify, im sure their captains are stressing the importance of summons and arrests, which leads to a lot of injustice
They're good for nothing except summons and petty arrests. NYPD will be there to harass you, then when I'm on the train and a ***** pulls a gun out, they're nowhere to be found. Blah.

Funniest thing was some cop lost his job and was commentating on my YouTube post about Cops needing to take down terrorists aka "gangs" in the ghettoes. I was like "I'm glad you lost your job. How can you take down terrorists when cops are the biggest terrorists?". A lot of cops have a mind state I'll never understand.

City cops can be pretty dumb.

Regarding that video:

#1 His reading comprehension sucks and/or he chose to ignore the fact that dude was right.

#2 he didn't wanna be shown up by some dude in the subway at 2am or whatever time it was.
