Anybody taking shots this year?

Shoddy isn't the word - the guy who produced that work was struck off by the General Medical Council in the UK - as harsh a punishment as you can get for fabricating the whole thing. He was rightfully absolutely ostracised from the medical research community.

The only people still perpetuating the myth are uneducated wackjobs.

It's even worse than that. Andrew Wakefield's "study" was funded by lawyers looking to sue pharmacy companies and profit from it.

Pretty much, the amount of people that come into the office telling me that they don't want any vaccines for their children are still pretty high, and they all give me the same reason's stated in Wakefield's study.

It's actually very disturbing, but you can only say so much to people that are convinced that giving vaccines is worse than the diseases you can contract without them.

And as Kdawg stated earlier, the variance of strains of influenza is highly variable. They recombine and mutate to make different strains of flu. The flu shot you get every year is essentially a non virulent composite of all the prevalent strains for that season. This is why you need to get them every year.

I got mine 2 weeks ago at albertsons...

I got it last year too and didn't get the flu, so it does work.

I'm just pissed because I payed $24.99 at albertsons and then I was shopping at Costco and it's $14.99 there... >D

lol ask them about the 40-50 grand they make for giving people unnecessary drugs?
40-50 grand? You don't know what you are talking about, please stop.

Btw the link you posted included technicians and residents in the resulting average. Pharmacist was just a keyword, but I'm sure you were trying the skew the results to support your BS.

Some definitely do have quotas for the shot, I can vouch from a family member who is in medicine.

Just because you didn't get the flu doesn't mean it worked. I've never had a shot and haven't had the flu in 15 years.

Considering that one tuna fish sandwich has 9 times the amount of mercury of all the vaccines you'll receive in your lifetime COMBINED, she should probably be aiming to stop Starkist and Bumble Bee.

She also fails to mention that one antacid tablet has about 1000 times the amount of aluminum that an average vaccine does.

She ALSO fails to realize that toxicity is based on dosage rather than the substance itself.  Water and oxygen are toxic in high doses.

Anti-vaxxers really are the bottom of the barrel.
