Jordan Retro 1 High “Laser” aka Custom Lasers Thread

I used regular red angelus for my breds because varsity looked a little too dark to me. Anyways, this is how it looks in comparison to my chicago 1s from 2013. I need to pick up my '01 breds from my grandmother's place so I can do a full comparison. Here's pics if you want to decide to use regular red. Of course, up close in person you can tell the difference, but it's close enough for me.

So would red + a little white be the best mix for the bred colorway? I bought a bunch of other reds like varsity red, autumn red, chili red to mix and experiment but if the regular red is closer I'll just return those. Any advice or help on achieving the bred color is appreciated.

I think you'll be fine with regular red. It should be ok if you're not OCD. It's more vibrant than my chicago's and I like it like that. If you have something with varsity red on it, try painting on a retired leather shoe or old leather belt and compare. Maybe varsity would've dried to look like OG breds, but I saw a pair that someone posted on the thread, and it looked pretty dark.
 
Alright cool, I was gonna match it to a shoe but the only shoe that I own with the bred colorway is the bottom of my lance mountains haha. Thanks anyways I'll definitely mess around with it and repped!
 
you can always try mixing paints together, measure the ratio with drops and do a trial on the leather..once you get the right shade just use that same ratio in a bigger scale

Good job, but regular red it still a tad darker. It has a beautiful red hue like the 01s but just too dark for my taste. Add a hint of orange and you'll be solid.

2001s are more vibrant than the 2013s. IMO regular red resembles the 2001s in this pic more than the 2013s. I really wish I had my 01s with me to compare. I'll probably try to pick them up tomorrow haha.
 
It's says its water proof. I also put a matte finish on it as well so it'll be good to go
 
How do these fit should I stay true to size or go up/down a size?Does anyone know where I can get a size 11 for a good price?

im in the mix for a custom laser 1 as well but it will not be any OG colorway thats for sure, i have my lasers on lay-away right now at champs lol i will post pics or maybe make a PS and show yall what my idea is

12 years for me haha. Thank god my foot stopped growing when sneakers started booming. I was able to keep some old releases. And yea this was the first time I ever made a custom, all thanks to this thread.

I'm about to try and customize a pair.... They sitting for around 120 anywhere? Need a couple pairs..
