Jordan Retro 1 High “Laser” aka Custom Lasers Thread

Wow. So maybe I pick up some lasers and paint them instead of dropping all that cash on some Frags. How about the sock liner though? Would that be difficult to dye?
 
whats up guys so this about 75% done I painted the sock liner i touched up the minor parts in the shoe i painted the tongue missing the wings and the tongue logo i have to get me some white paint to hit up a few things. then a quick look around the shoe to make sure its perfect then add the finisher and ill be done with the left shoe lol.   also huge shout out to @riceNeggs  for getting me another size 11 laser to make another custom, still on the thinking tank for the next one. 

i know its something you cant even see but i wanted to make sure that every nook and cranny looked good so i started pulling on the  tabs and what not and i found a good way to get to those little spots with out getting paint on unwanted areas, a simple butter knife just stick it under it and move the knife as you paint just be patient.

you cant see it from a distance but once your up close it looks good, alot of attention to detail here took me a while but well worth it 

knife is a trooper lol

sock liner and tongue, perhaps the easiest part to do BUT!!!   try to be careful when painting the sides some of the paint leaked into the outer side stitching 

see what i mean here about the paint leaking  on the stitching  funny enough it makes look good, imo

ohh guys also lol i melted the inside tag with the heat gun so be careful 

and some stupid pics in the light, love the blue sole looks cool

last major update until the wings logo i might leave the tongue murdered out unless i get the tag will see what happens.

I just ordered some wing logo stencils. Hopefully I'll get them early next week. I'd be more than happy to send a couple out to you free of charge. Just shoot me a PM. Still haven't heard back from the guy that makes custom NA tongue tags tho. Hope to hear from them tomorrow.

Still waiting on them to send me an invoice. If you could that'd be cool. If not $15 for a sheet of them ain't too bad.
 
Some advice for those planning to custom these lasers, don't do the black based 1's. I've seen the shades of red or blue swoosh become off because they do it over a grey swoosh and not white base. Unless you can figure out a work around.

U can paint white white then blue or red, but then again not sure how the 3m is gonna hold the paint yet.

I can't lie, I was a little disappointed that the first in-depth look we got at the process in here was for Fragment customs, but seeing it come together was still very cool. Look forward to see what gets whipped up next.

Especially if it's out of the box this time.

lol thank man, yeah its my first one so i didnt wanna go to a full custom but glad you like it.

Understandable :lol: Really though, great work.

Random idea that came to me as I thought about keeping things simple, yet creative though:

Someone should make the Black Toe equivalent of New Loves. Like, Black Toe colorblocking with yellow on the heel and outsole. Would be fire.

Maybe my man a page or two ago that had the dope idea of making New Loves out of these Lasers would want to give that a shot.
