Sorry ya'll. My local JJ said that they ran out of sizes a few weeks ago. Someone cleaned the remaining sizes. Will let ya'll know if my mall's JJ has them.

It's been known that duller takes the gloss of the paint or you can just use flat paint...you can always skip the finisher to keep the matte look but The finisher protects the paint so it's up to you if you want to bypass it.

Yes, nothing new other than a well edited video.  She also gives a good tip on how to avoid getting a blotchy looking sole when you go to die them.  I went through this thread (and Youtube) to gather as much information as possible so I have the best results once I do my pair of Laser 1's.

On a related note, what is the closest color Angelus sells to the Shadow Grey colorway?  It sounds like there's mixing involved but I don't have a shadow grey shoe to compare it to when I mix the paints together.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean her vid was nice, but there wasn't any other info that hadn't already been said on YouTube.

The better way to avoid blotches is to use a better base and a different solvent for your sole dye. Angelus dyes are convenient but a powder dye will give you a better all over result-blotch free. 40 vol creme/sole sauce is inexpensive but there are better solvents out there as well.
 
Any tips for a first time shoe painter?  I haven't painted anything since grade school

  I'm looking to do a fragment colorway on one pair and shadow grey on another.  Should I start with the black portion of the shoe..or blue...or the tongue/liner?  Any other tips is appreciated.  

I went ahead and bought all the supplies including GAC900 a heat gun and a fine tip paint pen.  But I'm not sure if I want to use the GAC + heatgun method in fear of damaging the shape of the shoe.  It sounds like the 50/50 water mix is safer for this reason and no one has mentioned why GAC is better.

I found it easier painting the lighter colour first and then black later. So in your case, blue for the frags and grey for the shadows first, and then the black after. You can easily cover up any mistakes of the lighter coloured portions with the black paint - do it the other way around and you need more layers of the lighter coloured paint on the black portions.

It's widely reported that Gac900 prevents the paint from cracking and peeling away. I haven't seen/heard anything online about the water mix doing the same. I wouldn't worry about heat damaging the shape of the shoe - just be careful to not point the heatgun at one spot for too long cos it will burn the fabric. Move that thing around as much as you can.

^ the krylon will make a big difference. I used it on my clover->black/gold customs and its pretty amazing how well it works. Just don't get too much on one area

My finished frags and royals should be coming in this week hopefully
I need some waxed laces
