Anybody Have Any Advice/Tips To Find Lost Dogs?

I figured I would eventually ask here.

Wifey went to her mom's house couple days ago. I guess they let all the dogs out the backyard to do their business and play.

When they opened the door to let them back in, they notice my girl's dog (the smallest of the bunch) is missing.

They assumed it ran through the gate and explored the front yard. She's been missing since then.

My girl already put out flyers with pics/reward/contacts, contacted vets near by and dog shelter, put a lost dog ad on craigslist.

What else can we do? Anybody familiar with dogs, specifically Chihuahuas? Will she know how to find her way home?

It's been 2 days and my girl hasn't stopped crying since.
 
OP you took all the right steps. Gotta just be on the lookout and hope someone who might have found her is nice enough to call and not claim the dog for themselves.

Also, check the dog pounds again. Daddy got locked up there.

Anybody else have any advice?
 
Craigslist is absolutely the best thing to do. I know multiple people who've had their dogs found and returned within hours.
 
Hope you find her OP. Put a chip on her if you do. (I assume she doesnt have one) Pretty inexpensive and gives you peace of mind....

Yeah we definitely will if (hope) we find her.

She was given to us by my sister. Her mother gave birth to her and died shortly after. So she does mean a lot to the family!
 
Post a picture of the dog on Twitter and Instagram, hashtag your neighborhood or something, something along those lines. Maybe you catch a break.
