Just started working and I need to figure out what to put in my office. All I have is the desk, computer set up, empty book shelf and empty wall space.

Any ideas?

I used to have a few figures up and pictures of my dogs

But when I left my last job and got to this one. I just stopped caring. Got an empty bookshelf and basic desk.

Hand sanitizer. A lot of it.

Dental Floss

Mints (no gum)

I'm here for the suggestions. I'm in a cubicle though so no bookcase. Right now I've got an R2-D2 figure, Milton's stapler from office space and a picture on my desk. Been debating on putting my diploma in there because I don't know how to hang it on the cube walls

Stay minimalist never know when itll be your last day

Terrible idea. Limited personal effects give off the vibe that you are unsure of how long you'll be there. People may think you're not trying to be there long, and whether or not that's the case, you don't want to give off that vibe.

In all seriousness...just don't over do it. It's not your college dorm.

A few pictures, pinned up or if desk space permits, framed.
Small calendar
Desk drawers/cabinet: Extra shirt(s)...toothbrush/paste, floss, mints, extra batteries if you're utilizing wireless mouse/keyboard, bottle of scotch (mid-range)

I keep a couple things on the bulletin board. Pics, articles, little sports posters they put in newspapers.

Got a drawer full of snacks, utensils, napkins, crutons, and a mug/ bowl. Another drawer with eyebrows, toothpicks, toothbrush/toothpaste, a comb - enough to freshen up mid day.

It's nice to have some ambient lighting to mellow out the harsh fluros. I got a stand up lamp that keeps things balanced.

I always keep spare socks, undershirts, underwear in my bottom drawer. Keep 2 pairs of shoes at work and wear sneakers in.

I love my office!

I can't eem figure out what you meant instead of eyebrows. So you must have really meant eyebrows

fluorescent lighting is the devil...

I'm usually the first person in office and purposefully leave the lights off (have desk lights) and i feel my life energy being drained when the next person in turns them on
