Lawd. This is so cringe. Those folks looking at him probably saying the worst things in their head.

It depends who you are and what dat heat look like

Do you really think drake had to do this when he was taking meetings around the time dude almost won a grammy off a mixtape? do you really think nicki was shaking her *** in front of a room of execs. Nope

because they already know what it is.

this dude Fd around and made a smashed. Him and his people really aint confident in dat product. As soon as they see the light theyre tryna cash out. Dude woulda done anything for that contract

This is what it comes down to. The product they have is BS and everybody in that room knows it.
He's playing his role as a H&*^%$ for a 360 deal. Looking like a disgrace to your people, promoting
violence, drugs, and murder in front of them. >:

"Hey, uh, Roberts Murder, get up on this polished oak table and show us the new jive dance you've got"

Yall know good and well if Bobby rapped normally, they would've escorted his butt out on his 4th bar

All artist do this for every label. I guess you guys think people just are too cool eh? Its a common practice. The label is selling you as a artist....a brand. They need to know as much about you or what you offer so they can figure out how to market you and prepare you for the consumer.

Like it or not these artist are items. Some you see can have longevity as a product and others you don't. These meetings can help determine this process. So knowning that, this was not akward at all.

It ain't shucking and jiving when yall shame people be in the club dancing to this. SMH overly rightous self hating ...m....nvm.

So we gonna pretend Nikki wasnt sitting on the shelf for years getting thousand of dollars of plastic surgery.

brb erasing my mind of pro sports combines and personal workouts and showcases.

A lot of you guys are simple minded.

Do you think they just give millions of dollars like in a briefcase and then tell the artist go make some music? Literally one bad deal can bankrupt a company, like The life of Pi did for the animation company, they were bankrupt after that.

They are investing in you, money that is invaluable at a time like this. Would they do this to an eminem, drake or 50cent? Absolutely, eminem spot a 10 minute rhyme infront of Dr.dre before being signed. 50cent did the same with Eminem. Drake was already popular before being signed, his mixtape was on radio..

Some of you are grown men, you need to get into the real world. Would they give a homeless man a student loan? Would they give a teenager credit? You have to qualify yourself before you receive money, and in this case millions and millions of dollars. They aren't just giving money away, the music industry is a business, and when your top selling product(CDs) is basically out of the market, you have to be careful of where you put your money.

That was terribly awkward.

The kid acts like he's slanging drugs or something but looks like he still uses his moms CC to buy clothes

He's dancing around like a @#$% monkey bro, what don't you understand? Their just destroying
the culture by even supporting this trash knowing it won't be around longer than a year tops.
We've seen countless examples of this in the past, how people don't understand I will never know.

He had the hottest song of the summer, you telling me a fake performance garnered a record deal, i doubt a record label is going bankrupt off one advance when they have plenty of artist on the roster generating income

 @ dude comparing this to a draft combine wtf

How is he not embarrassed "performing" his "music" in front of those people saying the N word and pretend shooting?

also, if this leaked recently I'd assume it's retaliation from him coming out and complaining about not getting $$$

Sad to watch cause all them white people in there just care how much money they can get from him.

Also that one african american at 4:27 drinking that tea like.. But thats none of my buissness :LOL

See I think the problem most people have at this video is that he's doing his thing in front of professional white people vs at a club, venue, music video etc. They're throwing money at him to rap about murder, drug dealing etc vs lets say a pop singer singing about love, teenage things, etc

im just tight that a bunch of old white dudes in suspenders and glasses dictate our culture.

Like Dame Dash said, its old white dudes profiting and laughing at black struggle.

You think any of those execs would let their daughter date or go to prom with a bobby shmurda?

this article made some really good points.. it's old, doe...

Out of countless amazingly talented unsigned artists waiting for their big break, why would a record company sign yet another half-*** artist whose message is all about death, murder, guns, and more death? It couldn’t possibly be about all the money they project making off this Youtube one-hit wonder since the past couple of years have shown us that viral video stars like Trinidad James and Chief Keef don’t necessarily translate to real-world superstardom.

Why would a label invest in a mediocre rapper who may be “hot” for a minute but will undoubtedly fade into oblivion like so many of his forgettable predecessors? Is it because Bobby Shmurda is an underground sensation who kids in NY have been listening to for the past few months so Epic Records jumped on who they felt might be rap’s next flavor-of-the-moment before someone else does?

Or is it simply because the music industry’s agenda to promote death and dysfunction to Black youth is bigger than its desire to make money?

I'm not on board w/ the conspiracy theory, though.. that the music industry has a plot to destroy black people.

I think they're just trying to make money...

I'm just wondering why do they use these kind of rappers?

Also, this is what people refer to when they say "the media has a residual effect on the black community" in case people are wondering....

....

let's be serious fontaine,
Jay made Bobby hot by playing it in concert when he was local, he was then hot in BLACK clubs, black instagram thots kept making vids to his music.

THEN white america followed. either these thots and Jay are for sale... or you're still going to blame "white people"

------------------------------------------

I love how no one took Ninjahood seriously because he typed 'da'

in comes fontaine with his famed misspellings, no problem.

We can only blame ourselves for letting that happen, rappers in the 80s shouldve been more business savvy

But the same **** was happening years before that with blues & jazz

Rap and dance in front of white folks about killing blacks, mistreating woman and selling drugs so you can be rich brehs

Bruh they dont give a damn about his career and they know he wont last a year.

Bros even though the music business is on the down. If shmurda has another single with half the success of hot ***** they will recoup the 6 or 7 figures they shelled out

Hell hot ***** just went gold. Theyre caking off that. They gon be good. He basically has a single deal with a safeguard in case he drops more fire but it prolly wont happen.

Unfortunately hes not dropping an album on that label
