Our parents and grandparents experienced the technology gap.

Are we going through a health gap?

Who remembers white bread being the most important part of your food pyramid?

I just don't belong here anymore :smh:

Why are these allergies more prevalent now, Mr. Health Gap?

Just so I'm clear...allergies do fall under the "health" umbrella, right?

Serious question, because I'm honestly not sure.

Are these allergies more prevalent now, or where the just undiagnosed or unknown previously?

I'm just thinking that since medicine had advanced sooo much recently that's the case.

Chickenpox used to kill people.

to put it simply it's because parents are too clean around their children these days i.e. sanitize everything, don't go in the sandbox etc.

when you're young your body builds up your immune system to colds, coughs etc.
these parents who wont let their kids be exposed to anything that could be harmful to them prevents the body from building up an immunity to outside germs.

the hygiene hypothesis
"In medicine, the hygiene hypothesis is a hypothesis that states that a lack of early childhood exposure to infectious agents, symbiotic microorganisms (e.g. gut flora or probiotics), and parasites increases susceptibility to allergic diseases by suppressing the natural development of the immune system.
