Nas - The Season (Prod. J Dilla) Single

Nice :pimp:

I do wish the Dilla family would find a stash of new Dilla beats. I've heard this (admittedly great) beat so many times.

I wish Nas would keep Jay-z name out his fat lips. And the Jay Electronica version ***** on this.
Nas has fat lips?

Couldn't disagree more with this opinion. In the age of mediocrity and the microwave attention span, Dilla's music being constantly used is a blessing. Nobody alive producing can create the magic he did and the fact that his music is still going strong is a testament to that.

That's the exact type of thinking that hinders progression and creativity.

Is it? You gonna throw another one of your little tantrums now?

Get lost.
Throw a tantrum? You must have me confused with someone else. Your statement about preventing growth and creativity was completely off base. Just because a very small sample of current artist continue to keep Dilla's beats in rotation doesn't mean artistic growth and creativity will be stunted.

I fail to see how the two correlate.

It's my belief that placing any certain work of art on a pedestal and giving it absolute untouchable status breeds a standard that isn't particularly conducive of experimentation.

That's all.

Classic Beat! Nas said, "Jay Elec doesn't write it."

I thought Jay Elec addressed that a few years back.
"“Nas is one of the gods, one of the greatest of all time, one of the godfathers of even my own style,” he said. “I met him on a humble submission and he is one of the greatest ever — he never has or never will need a ghostwriter. He’s legendary, his pen game is unquestionable; salute to Nas." Jay Electronica

Recognizing Dilla for the genius he was and making sure his music lives on is hardly giving it untouchable status. There are a handful of young producers and older ones still striving to perfect their craft. Ask anyone who is worth a damn behind the boards if Dilla set the bar; you already know their answer. If anything his accolades promote creativity and the type of growth us as music fans can support.

Like others said even with aging Nas doesn't need gimmicks to make great music. I like Abracadabra better but that's just because I've been listing to that for years. This was dope.

Never knew Busta spit over this too..

I think the reason nas gives us that timeless music sometimes is because he writes
So he able to put that emotion on the page and see his thoughts formulate
Which I think when u going off the top and in ur mind like jay does it's hard to get that emotion and feel
Also nas hits u with nostalgia in his records with the things he talks about
He makes me think of that big *** tv in my moms living room that didn't work that was the stand for the tv that did work
For playing in the street and having to be in the house before them street lights
He makes me think about playing football in the street and having to pause the game every time a car passed
Nas hits u with that flossing stuff
But he's concious I believe that a majority of his fans don't live like that and don't wanna hear that
And loves giving me that real and making me feel like he wanna of them regardless of fame
